Uh...intro thread?

Postby Hawknc » Sun Apr 01, 2007 3:33 am UTC

It's kinda disappeared, and I'm not the only person to notice that. It didn't even destick as far as I can tell...it's just gone.

Commence explanation...now.

It also deleted the posts out of each person's previous posts thing. And I'm assuming the post-counts, too.

I honestly have no idea what is going on.

According to Firefox, that used to be the introductions thread. Now, all I see is "The topic or post you requested does not exist".

*shrugs*

It can't have been deleted, surely! It's not often that we delete legitimate threads and we wouldn't delete a sticky.

EDIT: So I've decided to call you on your thingy and followed the link. Turns up fine. It has to be in there somewhere. Have you tried the very last pages of General? It's possible there was some sort of bug that could have changed the dates to make them seem like they were posted some other time. All my posts I've made in the thread are visible in my profile to me, also.

I just deleted a spam post off of it, and last I checked, the rest of it was still there.

warriorness, did you try logging out, restarting ff, then logging back in? Maybe there's a cache problem.

If that's the case, it's not a terribly good prank. You'd think we could do better.

I tried logging out, viewing it while logged out, removing all my forums.xkcd.com cookies, reloading the page without cache, viewing it in a different browser, viewing it via a proxy. All the same; no dice.

I've tried in Firefox and in IE, which has never been used to go to xkcd before. So yeah, if this is an April fools joke you guys are really really bad at this sort of thing. I would've given everyone hilarious titles.

I've tried, too. Nothing. :(

Discussing it with Jordy. I honestly can't think of anything but a really shitty April Fool's joke. *sigh*

@RG - I tried that, too, and there has been no change.

There are forums that count the number of posts you have made and the number of posts that are on the forums that you have made. What's our response to old topics here regards old age deletion?

Erm...

I'm a mod now, and I still can't find it. Therefore, I am proof that you are wrong. And Gordon isn't a mod and he can see it. See also, davean.

I seriously have *no* idea where the fuck the intro thread is. Some asshole is fucking around with my mind and *I don't like it*.

But I can promise you this: it's not in the mod forum.

restricted forum =/= mod forum. you can have a restricted forum that cant be seen by mods if you want, or only by certain mods.

And it only takes one person to fuck around to decide to do this.

Admins should have access to the log of activities that mods and higher get up to. If they come back empty handed from the admin panel then they are in on it. Or at least one is since an admin can remove entries.
