Timezone weirdness

Postby madjo » Mon Nov 28, 2011 10:23 am UTC

I'm in the CET timezone, which is GMT+1 (or +2 during Daylight Saving Time), but for the forum, I have to set my timezone to UTC (which is for all intents and purposes the same as GMT, as per the board preferences page) (and UTC+1 during DST) otherwise it's one hour ahead of me.

Anyone know a solution to this issue? (other than me changing my timezone settings twice a year)
:)

You are carrying:
- a slightly paranoid Android
- two left feet (not my own)
- a still unfed and very hungry hippo
- broadsword of +5 ridiculousness stained with the blood of the undead souls
- a stetson Resistol, cuz stetson Resistols are cool.

Do you have the "DST is in effect" option turned on in the preferences? (It's right below the timezone dropdown)
That'll add an hour onto whatever timezone you've entered, so what you should be selecting is UTC+1 with DST off, in the winter, and UTC+1 with DST on, in the summer. You will still need to go in and change it manually whenever DST starts or ends, it's not automatic.
While no one overhear you quickly tell me not cow cow.
but how about watch phone?
