IRC issues

i hope this is appropriate for this forum...
my search turned up no IRC thread so i just started a new topic about my specific issue
i'm new here so i ask for Mods to be patient and kind ^___^

ok so
at first, i had pipes - |These|Things| - around my screen name, and that turned out to be not allowed
so when the pipes were removed, i had access to chat and all was well
but then one day when i tried to join, i was mysteriously banned
i msged an Op and it was removed, as i hadn't earned a ban in any way
a few days later, i couldn't join again, and when i asked in #help, it turned out to be an intentional ban
so i msged one of the forum Mods, and that ban was lifted
now today, again i cannot join and my IRC client (irssi) turns up this same msg:
-!- Cannot join to channel #xkcd (You are banned)

perhaps my IP somehow ends up in a block list?
i don't think i've misbehaved at all, but if i have, i am eager to learn how to do it right
any clarity on this issue will be much appreciated

There is not much overlap between staff on the fora and staff on the IRC, and not much communication between the two spheres. For IRC help, #help is recommended.

i have already been into #help and they said it was an intentional ban
so isn't the next step to seek counsel from a channel Op?
i will ask in #help again, and /q the Ops whose names i can remember (which totals 2 >.<)

Yeah, honestly, there's nothing we can do. If anyone associated with the #xkcd IRC channel can help, PM this user. But you're not going to get a good answer on the fora, so I'm going to lock this. Sorry.
