word filter

Postby phillip1882 » Mon Nov 04, 2013 6:43 pm UTC

in this game, the host thinks up a rule for what words are allowed, and what words aren't. then people try to guess the rule the host has come up with.
an example rule might be only words containing a double letter.
then someone might guess: apple, bob, zig-zag, tremble, bird.
then the host would say apple: yes, rest: no.
and from that information, the next person would make further guesses, or guess the rule itself.
the first person to guess the rule wins. to be fair let's say you can guess a maximum of 10 words a post.

i have a rule in mind. go!

Are there any rules on what rules the host can use? For example, if my rule was "The only words that get a 'yes' are numbers between 4430409 and 4456050", we would be playing for quite a while, wouldn't we?

the rule should apply to multiple words, and should be reasonably guessable.
yes to tremble, screeched and race, no to everything else.

punctuation should never be important. capitalization is not important for my rule, but for someone else's it may be.

yes to all words, posted by adam H and and lawrencelot since my last post.
i think you both got it. so what's the rule?

The words have to be verbs with an 'r' in them.

So Adam H you want to go next? We got it at the same time but you were faster :)

Damn, I thought it was 'nouns with an e'. It seems like that's close, but still not close enough! Especially because of 'hair'.
