Let's see if I can get a verb...

rattle

exhume
purchase

I guess it has something to do with 'a' and 'e', their order and the amount of syllabes.

disappear, ae, ea

yes to rattle, no to the rest

Maybe a hint: it has nothing to do with specific letters, syllables, or order of letters

damnit, rattle can be a noun, too! :P

Nothing to do with specific letters or syllables! That's a good hint!

OK, I will guess a rule that has fit the data we've collected so far: the word is a tangible object.

I will guess the same rule as Adam instead I'll say the word has to be a 'concrete noun'. In case Adam's guess was correct but not phrased correctly. :)

Adam's guess is correct, congrats! I would accept concrete noun as well.

Spoiler:
The best guess for the percentage of words that conform to the rule is 50%. It could be biased one way or the other but I have no idea.

I don't want to kill this excellent game so I'll end the round. The rule was that the first letter of the word comes earlier in the alphabet than the last letter of the word.

I have thought of a new, much easier rule. I'll use the most recent post to start you off with some examples:

yes:
fints
bormulous
Anslat

no:
wingle
dunard
ondler
pimange
Undrigonk

IMO if you know the rule you should post it, otherwise it doesn't count as "getting it".

The effect of that is to encourage people to make a guess at the rule, even if they're not sure yet. Is that a desirable gameplay aspect? If so, then we should go with it.

Anyway, it sounds like it might be my turn, so if so:

I have two rules in mind; an easy rule, and a hard rule. I'll make it clear with formatting which rule/s if any a word meets. Whoever guesses either rule is the next winner, but i'll happily keep helping people guess the unguessed rule if they like. So, guess away!
