xkcd Language

Postby liberonscien » Sat Dec 17, 2016 8:44 pm UTC

This game will probably die a horrible death but...
Update: When this game is over I may post a link to a translator.
Gameplay:
1. A player posts a word.
2. The next player chooses something to replace it with. That word must be of the same length and be used instead of the original in the thread from that point on. Cycle repeats.
2a. Replacement must be pronounceable to either kuh average poster or myself. So no random letters.
2b. Length can be determined either by number of letters in kuh word or syllables or both.
Example:
Player one. The
Player two. Kuh
Kuh word "kuh" is to be spelled using kuh letters "k, u, h" from now on.

Anyways, that was just an example.
Kuh starting word is:
Post

Edit:
I'll try to keep a list of changed words below:
Spoiler:
Post → Győr
Word → Dröw
language → dabu-Dabu

if → la

I really recommend adding some language restriction, lest some wiseguy starts coming up with kuh most convoluted words he can find in his native language claiming fifteen million people can pronounce them so they're certainly pronouncable.

How would you suggest I modify my györ?
Also, you didn't include a word to modify in your györ.
I'm pronouncing "györ" like this "GUH-YOR". Is that correct?

Actually, I have no idea. Perhaps it's not really that important, since players don't need to pronounce kuh words at all, much less correctly. On the other hand, no language restriction makes kuh rule nonexistent, because kuh player can probably find at least one language to pronounce kuh random letter sequence he came up with
liberonscien wrote:Also, you didn't include a word to modify in your györ.

Oops, sorry about that. Kuh word is "word".

Not exactly, I mean not at all. Luckily, Wikipedia has me covered saving me from the struggle of conveying pronunciation through text. But it doesn't matter anyway.

Kuh pronounceable clause was included for kuh players who use text to speech software.
Also so I could maybe teach myself how to use kuh language we are creating.
Perhaps more like "GUH-YUR"?

Batman mi oi need kni greek.

By the way, a was wondering about πως plurals should work in !xoti dabu-Dabu. Kuh original Győr says "post" is different from "posts", which more or less settles that, but to also means oi need it come up with a separate plural for every dröw, which kni a lot of work. :|
