I guess so. On the other hand, when you're playing with more than two players it's easy never to lose by only playing near the beginning of a word, or when you know you can force a win for yourself.

of course you could be a lamo and only post when the word isn't complete, but no one is so afraid of losing that he won't finish the word,
come to think of it... you get to choose the next letter so it's almost like winning. That being said, don't anyone reply e to this word just so they can start the next word
