This looks really, really fun. My turn! I just only wish I had gotten something more bizarre and less reasonable.
Image

This is Mikael Johansson's recently released sophomore effort, which has already garnered high praise from the critics. The Swedish expatriate has found inspiration in the calm and slow pace of the American Midwest, and this album reflects his newfound muse. Gone are the bitter, self-effacing lyrics and garage-feel of his previous album, Interloper. This album's opener, "Cloud Cover" may not have the raw edge of Inerloper's hit single "Baggage Check" but it certainly introduces the listener to a whole new world of a softer, happier Mikael.
A good pun is its own reword.

Wrecking the unsalvagable is the debut album from Greek band Pentafolos. Critics describe their sound as a techno-driven Sigur Ros.

I love "therein to be content" with the flying kid. :)

Does my first combo get an "inappropriate and creepy" award?

I thought I'd give it another shot and refreshed the flickr images, and this time I got something as innocent and fitting as the other was horribly wrong. I think this looks like a fundraiser item made by a class.

The first one is a cheat. There was a pic on the flickr page that was soooo much cooler than the one I was supposed to use that I went for it.

This one's done the proper way, and I love how all the components go together:

Yeah, this is a pretty brilliant game idea. Some funny, some realistic.

I think I got a pretty good roll, here's what I made of it:

Phonophobia's latest album delves deeper into their combination of dark lyrics and childlike, whimsical melodies. (okay, that description was almost entirely from the lego, but what can I do with "he'll eat for days?")

This is a fun game, kudos to OP.

fly around in circles by the new band Ascochyta Spinaciae. their music has sort of a "Simon and Garfunkel" feel to it, but with elements of techno and death metal.

(this is pretty fun. be kind to me, I'm a n00b at using the GIMP :) .)

edit: one more...

There Would Be No Rainbow by Nematus Ribesii: some sort of nerdy emo band.

BTW; is it legal to do minor shops to the image? i used the blur tool on the background so the girl stands out more.

Shamelessly stolen from Facebook: Album Art Covers

Postby InstinctSage » Sun Feb 22, 2009 1:14 am UTC

The 'Your Album Cover Art' Meme

1 - Go to "Wikipedia." Hit “Random Article”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to "Random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together

5 - Post it here.

Feel free to add reviews or comments on the style/substance/genre of other people's albums.
