Optimal Obscurity

Postby ManHadn't » Sun Apr 26, 2009 1:30 pm UTC

Inspired by a Questionable Content strip which stated that the greater an indie band is, the fewer people know about it. (However, if no-one knows about it, how do you know someone didn't just make them up off of the top of their head?)

Objective: Name a band that only ONE other person on this thread knows about. If zero people know about it, zero points for you. So we'll soon find the optimal region of un-popularity.

Rules: Skim the posts previous to you before posting. When you post, also point out what other artists you know about.
Every two pages, we start a new game, so we don't have to go through loads of posts. (IOW, new games start on odd pages).

This is my first try at a forum game. If you have any ideas, go ahead and post, I'll see if I can add them into the game.

I'll start off with: Four Zombies And A Clown.

Neither of the above ring any bells, sadly, but I'll stick them into Spotify later...

Lemon Jelly? Please let there be people who know of them! I think I once got someone here to listen to them...
This is, er, no offense but you are a robot, aren't you?

Sorry no, Zen Army is actually an obscure Irish band so good luck trying to find them anywhere by the way.

That video is horrible, and I don't know the song, but yes, I do believe that is they.

Haven't heard of Deathmole either.

Have heard of Deathmole. The others don't ring any bells.
If my memory is correct, I heard of Three Zombies on xkcd forums, so I'm going to stick with my entry.

I still haven't heard of anyone else's bands on here. His Name Is Alive is still up for grabs, and I'm adding Sulek.

I have heard of Lemon Jelly but none of the others.

I'll add Rasputina.
Generation Y. I don't remember the First Gulf War, but do remember floppy disks.

Of the band Fall of Troy? I prolly failed with that, but I'm busy and don't want to go dig through itunes right now.
Or something to that effect. Hell, I don't know.
