1) Sprint hard out of the apartment, down three flights of stairs, and out the front door to the sidewalk. It would likely take just over 15 seconds unless I didn't care whether I tripped on the stairs and broke something I like.

2) Launch myself off the balcony and grab a handful of branch on my way down. Probably doable in under five seconds, but has an unacceptably high level of risk of mortality and/or paralysis.

I'll say "no", then.

R/C hovercraft, will need to charge the batteries though, and perhaps get some new ones since the accu pack degraded somewhat over time.

Yes! There's an indonesian sword less than 10 feet from me. It's all curvy and a bit longer than my forearm. Nice and sharp.

Yep, I cut the tops off and keep stationery in them. Resourceful, or possibly just a little weird. Either way, they're handy and I like to think it's good eco-karma.

Actually, yes. I have this electric bell I built from a kit 15 years ago, and I had it out yesterday to see if
a) it still works (it does)
b) I can salvage parts (I can't)
