"Why is the first Dragon's Breath free?" asked the bartender. "It's an old custom. Some of our first visitors were intimidated by the name when we opened up. So, I said they could have it free, and they liked it. Now, your food will be on it's way. Also, here's a Food Diary to record how any food you get anywhere tastes."He then turned to the new customers at the door.Chfan got his pizza and water, and SuperTD got a cheeseburger and Dragon's Breath.

Food Diary:
(Note: Drinks restore MP, Food restores HP)
Water: Ordinary drinking water. +5 MP.
Pizza: Tasty homemade warm pizza. In this region, it is custom for it to have some seasoning. +8 HP. Fiction: 55 HP+ 8= 63 HP.
Dragon's Breath: Taste like normal alchohalic drinks, but has quite an aftertaste to it. +9 MP. SuperTD: 5+9 MP= 14 MP
Burger w/ Cheese: Grounded up beef in between two buns, with cheese and vegatables. +9 HP.

Vieto turned to Micky.

"Thanks for your kind offer. I'll thankfully accept it, and I'll pay it back at the first opportunity. Also, I won't order anything expensive, as I do not wish to abuse your kindness."

Vieto walked into the pub.

"...and you'll take a beer and a steak got it. Your food should be ready soon. Oh, Hello there! What can I serve you?" The bartender hands Vieto a menu. (Remember, it's the same menu as the one posted a few posts back)

Mahar notices the group entering the pub, and meanders on over.

"Greetings, fellow travelers. What brings you to this humble pub?"

To the barkeep

Background...well what do you want to know? I'm 22 years old by now. I've spent the past few years of my life out in the wilderness hopping from town to town. My home town was destroyed not long before that. I was taught how to use all the weapons in the town armory, but my favorite is this here 6' wooden pole. Unfortunately over the past few years I haven't had a lot of practice with many other weapons and I haven't maintained proficiency with them. The wooden pole has some facets, and holes but I don’t know what for. Strangely enough, I found this pole in under our barn. I don't remember the detail, but I knew that barn inside and out and we never had built anything under it, and one day I found a door to this storage area, with only this pole in it. I’ve been known to produce fire on command. Although, I’ve injured myself a few times…

rolls up sleeves to show a few burns, pull up the right leg of his pants to reveal another burn

I’m still trying to get that hang of it. Other than that, I'm not one for religion, but my mother was. She tried to convince me there was something great about it, but I never cared much for it. Never really knew my father. He died while I was young.

I think I'd be fair to say you know the majority of my life's story. What are you guys up to? Not many people venture out this far? Or have I finally stumbled across civilization?

Mahar:
+5 Survival
+6 Wooden Weapons
+6 Fire Skill
15 MP
Magic: Fire: Costs 6 MP
Ability:Inner Strength: Costs all of current MP. A random fire attack. It could do as much damage as a small spark. Could do as much damage as a blaze of hellfire. It is random, and will change according to how mfank changes.

And you background story...damn, that was some good writing.
Also, here's the role I feel that everyone plays:

clockworkmonk: The Peaceful Monk
mickeyj300x: The Fast & Furious
Vieto: The Strange One
SuperTD: The Tough Guy

Vieto, backed by some of Micky's coins, took his order.
"I wouldn't mind a fried giant lizard. Also, that free Dragon's Breath sounds pretty enticing, I'll think I'll have that with my meal. What's your policy for horses at this pub?"
Turning to mahar, Vieto joined in the conversation.
"I'm from just over the hills to the south, from a small town. Its nice, but not the best place for an inventor. I have made designs for a new type of weapon, I'm not sure what to call it yet, but its a type of bow that you don't have to wind up yourself, but has a crank to wind it up for you. I also know a little magic, but I could say I've neglected it."

Food Diary:
Fried Giant Lizard: Mmm, crunchy. Made from the domestic lizard, usually populating farms on the outskirts of towns. +7 HP
Note: You can ask if you want to see a food that is in the Food Diary, just as you can look at the Inventory.
Fiction:
100-10 Gold= 90 Gold

[i]The bar is peaceful and quiet. A man near the back is strumming his Mandola, creating a pretty tune. However, Fiction is outside the bar and two men approach him. They look like your average people and walk up to Fiction. The taller one says "There's going to be a little commotion here tonight, and I have 450 gold saying that you were a block away and didn't see anything. How about it?"

catches up with Fiction

Fiction you interested in some company while exploring the town? It's been a while since I've happened across a town as large as this one, and I wouldn't mind taking a bit of a walk about. I'm not all that tired yet. Being alone in the wild, you learn to manage on little...oh...

vaguley remember one of the men standing near fiction, but decides to play it off as if he doesn't...

what's up gentlemen?

(ooc: Chosen One? How'd you come up with that? I didn't dive into the entire back story I came up with for this character, but it does involve a powerful wizarding class named the Shaddowfire (misspelled on purpose), where Mahar is the direct decendant of the first Shaddowfire.)

Oh, yes. I forgot to caculate that Vieto. You get +5 MP. And to mfank, I just had a feeling.

The men that were talking to Fiction noticed mfank. "Hey, we just offered your buddy here 450 gold to stay away from this place, since a ruckus will start. How would you like 450 gold to do that?"

Vieto finished his meal, and proceeded to a nearby table. taking out a diagram, the twine, and the branch, he takes out a small whittling knife and proceeds to smooth the branch and cut several notches in the wood. He then proceeds to attempt to string the bow. The twine was a little over the length of the stick, so Vieto had to whittle the branch down more to make it more flexible, and to string the bow, tightening the string with much of his might. Finally, he was left with a Low quality longbow, with no arrows. He left the wood pieces in a clean pile, and put them in his bag for later disposal.

taking out the sticks he had picked up earlier that day, he chose some with long, straight sections, and ended up cutting 8 8" sections. He began whittling the sticks until they were narrow, wooden shafts with a point. Using his knife, little slits were cut into the back ends of each of the pointy shafts, and Vieto took out some leaves, for lack of proper feathers to make the guides for the arrows. attacking the leaves, Vieto finished making 8 low-quality wooden arrows for his bow. He put leftover shavings in his bag, again for future disposal. He then put the bow over his shoulder, and the arrows in his bag, wondering why people were glancing at him funny.

turns and whispers to Fiction

I've met these gentlemen before in the woods. they were torturing something. If they say there's going to be a commotion, there damn well's going to be.

straightens back up and address the 2 gentlemen

Interesting offer? What are you guys into that you'd need the streets clear?

Ah dammnit Vieto....just replenish all your MP. This is getting hard to caculate.

The bartender spoke to Vieto. "These folks around here aren't used to seeing an archer. Maybe a swordsman or a knight every few days, but not an archer."
Meanwhile, the men outside shrugged and went into the pub. The taller one then pulled out a large club, and the other got out a dagger. "NOBODY MOVES!" shouts the taller one.

Vieto saw the men rush in from the front as he sat at his table in the back.He sneakily takes out his arrows, and quickly strung one. pointing the bow towards the ground.

"Listen, how about you drop your weapons and leave? I just finished fletching some arrows, and I won't have to use them if you leave before you do anything."

Vieto quickly prepared himself for if the men decided to try and rush him. He decided that his first target would be the taller one, as his weapon could easily overpower Vieto. Vieto also had a plan for closer quarters; he could use his bow and whittling knife as weapons, but they wouldn't be effective.

"Now!" Fiction says, in hearing range of Mahar and Vieto.

Fiction fires several arrows in rapid succession at both the men's heads. The building is only across the street and the men are in the door, so the shots are relatively clear.

SuperTD jerked awake, disturbed by the events downstairs. He heard a lot of men shouting, and seemed to recognise the voices of the people he was travelling with. It sounded like there was some sort of fight going on downstairs. Not wanting to miss out on the fun, SuperTD looked round the room to see if there was anything he could hit people with, and use as a weapon, but didn't see anything, so charged down the stairs. He saw a man shouting at Vieto with an arrow in his arm, and charged at him, tackling him to the ground.

"Get off of me!" yelled the man whom SuperTD tackled. He dropped the Daggeron the floor. A man behind Fiction was not feared by the arrow archer, so he hit him behind the head. It stung a little, but didn't do very much. ((Fiction 63-2=61 HP)) Then, a voice rang out. "Stop you fiends!" The brawlers stopped in their tracks. The source of the voice, was a man in a dark-brownish robe, along with other members with the same clothes, were standing east from the fight. "You Jackalsshould stop harming innocents!" The man yelling was reconizable as Deric. Then, a sharp crack of a whip was heard, that came from the opposite direction. Everyone turned to distinguish the source of the sound. It was a man in a large hat, who seemed reconizable. "All ya' punks should be running home to yer' momma's." It was the leader of the Texans, along with others in similar clothing. Deric spoke again, "Oh damnit, not you again. Oh well, let's have a good arse-kicking" he said as he pulled a medium sized Staff. Both sides yelled and ran towards each other, with the Jackals directly in their pass, inevitably going to be caught in the cross-fire. The man whom SuperTD had pinned yelled in a loud voice: "So much for a simple holdup!"
