Deric shouted to his group "Make sure to only hit Jackalsor Texans, my allies are here!" The man whom SuperTD had wacked became unconcious.

Fiction elbows the guy behind him, screams to the monks, "I'm here to help!" and begins to fire off arrows at both the Jackals and Texans, aiming for the neck mostly.

(How many arrows did I lose just now? And from before? And do clockworkmonk's prayers benefit us?)

Well Chfan, you fired some arrows before, i'd say 4, and now you fired 5. So 17-9= 8. Also, the prayers clockworkmonk gave you....well, at least you know he cares about you! :D

A couple men were shot in the neck, the rest in the shoulder, back, or chest. Now,after Fiction's attack and the prolonged fighting, there were at least twice as many in Deric's group than the Jackals and Texans combined. The Texansand their leader ran away, but stumbled a little, slowing him down so he was still in sight. The Jackalswere frozen.

All of Fiction's shots missed the Texans, although the previously unmentioned arrows from Vieto hit him in the spinal cord.

Vieto, those arrows were kind of laggy, can you speed up?

The rest of the Jackals and Texans fled, in fear of the seemingly insane men. Deric then began to speak : "Thank you all! Now, come into the bar, I have very important news to discuss with all of you."

(you all are crazy with the updates over the weekend. Also I'm a bit confused with this last fight. The texans were the guys who 1st attacked us in the bar, and their leader was the man with the large hat. Deric is someone who tried to stop the fight. But who are the Jackals, some other gang aparently?)

As Mahar and Fiction were walking out of the bar, Fiction suddenly pulls out his bown and runs back. Confused at his newly found friends action, Mahar continues walking on to the 3 story building across the street. He walks to the top of it to watch the streets, as was their plan. As suddenly as Fiction dissappeared, two or maybe three gangs appear in the street and wildly start attacking. Unable to determine friend or foe, Mahar decides to watch this fight from the safety of the rooftop. There is also doubt in Mahars mind, whether or not this group he found is as nobel as they seem.

After a few moments of fighting, the dust settles, and there seems to be one very prominent man standing talking with the group Mahar had just made friends with. Being out of hearing range, Mahar comes down off the roof, and sneaks into the back of the bar to listen more closely to what is being discussed.

"That's weird. Where's Mahar? I though I told him it was time to attack. I'll go out and look for him."

(By the way, the jackals were mentioned earlier. All there really is to know is that they're a gang who are rivals with the texans.)

Deric goes into the bar. "Wait! I have some important things to say before you sleep! First, you can find missions at the Request Board in the Shopping Plaza. You can do missions that vary in all sorts of different ways. You can do up to 3 different missons at one time, and more than one of you can do a mission together. The board will change often. In the Market, you will find a Lessons Board. These will have all sorts of people listing different classes to train you in different ways, such as Melee Weapons, or Cooking. Last but not least, you may be splitting away from each other quite frenquently now, so take these. These are Cell Phones, use them to contact each other. You don't just have to call each other though, anybody can give you their number. Since I respect this party, I will give you my phone number, so we may keep in touch.

The party got Cell Phones!
Cell Phone Numbers:
Vieto
Mahar
Fiction
Mickeyj300x
SuperTD
Deric

How to use:
Say player 1, wanted to contact player 2. It would go like this:
Since the job was risky, player 1 got his cell phone out and called player 2. "Hey player 2, do you mind coming over here?"

"Also, your monk friend has decided to go travel to a temple in a far-away land, so he will not be present in your group, so he left these 5 Health Potions for you all. Well, I should be going to sleep. Good night."

I'll give you all about 12 hours in real time to get asleep, before you fall asleep where you are standing. Once everyone has found a place, I will start a new day.

Mahar can't help but feel as though there is something charitable about this group, and decides to show himself.

"Sorry guys, I didn't hear Fiction's call for action. I didn't notice there was trouble until I saw the battle from the roof top. However, I wasn't sure if I could aim my spells accurately enough to assist from up there."

Mahar speaks with bartender.

Oh Fiction was looking for me? I wonder if he's still awake.

He heads upstairs and knocks softly on Fictions door.

(ooc: what do we know about these gangs? and on a complete side note, what do we know about this universe? (wooded or dessert or fields, towns have what sort of structure, mostly stone, mostly wood? anything at all you guys can tell me would be helpful. Coming in late has a few disadvantages...)

Er..sorry, you guys fell asleep. The unconcious man is now gone, leaving a small trail of blood behind. Everyone in the pub slept in a room. Vieto did not, but nothing happened during the night.
((Everyone subtracts 15 gold from their total, if they slept in the pub. Money for rooms is automatically taken if you sleep in a hotel, inn, pub etc. the night before.

Day 2

Light fall onto Lowf, and our members, are awaken by the sound of alarm clocks. Vieto is awakened by the noise of people moving throughout the bar.

To answer Mahar's questions:
1( We just now the Jackals, are you usual street gang, selling drugs, getting into fights, prostitution etc.
The Texans are a group of bounty hunters which act like the cowboys of Texas. (In the game, Texas is a fictional land, only used for movies.)
Deric's gang is just trying to help out the city, which is a little corrupt. They go around and help the sick.

I'm going to add this answer in the OP to help out newcomers.

2( The universe is similar to ours: stars, planets, aliens etc. The planet we are on is Lyon, which is composed of 68% water, and 32% land. It has 11 continents, which have no name, but are known as regions 1,2,3 etc. This game started on continent 5, in the country of Silor. You could get a book on geography in the Shopping Plaza for extra info.

Mahar awakens early, as was his custom in the wilderness, and heads for the bar.

"Hey barkeep. If you see any of my friends, let them know I went to the Shopping Plaza to check out the Request and Lesson Boards. Thanks."

Leaves bar and heads toward Shopping Plaza.

(ooc: Ok so the universe is mostly like ours. Movies and Cell phones exist, but we are still fighting with swords and spells? We are currently on the planet Lyon, on continent 5, in the country of Silor. Does this town have a name? Is interstellar travel possible? What forms of transportation are possible? I'm going to keep asking questions as they come to me. If you feel it is something my character shouldn't know don't hesitate to tell me that as well.)

mfank, we are currently in Lowf, you should ask some locals if you want to know more about it. So you want to know why we have 21st century and use the ol' sword & shield?.....WAIT, I FORGOT TO PUT THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD IN THE OP? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

History:
Life was simple as it was. Cities, cars, wars, politics, coffee. All was normal. That was, until a certain governement found something out: You can't hit me if you can't aim. Scouts and Ninjas went into action, guns were put as a disadvantage from reloading, cocking, and some Scout and Ninjas were wearing special armor and (To the Heavy Weapon Guy's suprise) could outsmart bullet. They needed something bigger, something used before......Arrow. This little thing changed the entire scope of war. Soon, it even changed life. People thought it would be cool to act like in the older times, with the present technologies today. They also rediscovered "magic". You might be thinking "This is strange." It is. This is one fucked-up civilization. But it still is pretty cool :D

Interstallar travel? Well, space ships have been invented, but the study is only in it's adolecence.

Forms of travel? Cars, bikes, buses...just about everything we have here, including some magicy travel, like teleportation.

Mahar goes into the Shopping Plaza. The boards are over to the right, some shops are straight ahead.

Mahar heads towards the shops. Not expecting to find anything, but after spending a few years in the wilderness, he curious as to what has changed. A spell book wouldn't go amiss either. Mahar heads toward the first stall.

"Greetings. Name's Mahar and I'm new to these parts. What would you be willing to tell me about this here rather polite town?"

Continues to browes the shope owners wares, looking for any sort of interesting books.

(ooc: so I've got it. Ninja's have screwed with all modern weapons, guns, lasers, ect. and they are now completely useless. In large towns sky scrappers exist. Elevators, shopping malls, and even computers? We can fly/bus/drive around, and with some serious creativity we might even be able to leave the planet. Yup, this is one f'ed up place. I like it!)

Vieto looks at the Request & Lesson Board.
Currently, there are five requests. Ask to look into one for more deatail.

Save my friend Catherine!
Reward: 100 Gold

Bodyguard
Reward: 160 Gold

Help! Strange man around here!
Reward: Lightning Spell Book

Escort
Reward: Iron Spear + 50 Gold

Attack on Bandit Camp! May take a day or two, but there is a big reward!
Reward: 500 Gold + Knive Throwing Manuel + 25 Throwing Knives

Lesson Board:
(Note: Classes take place in the Market, the instructors will hold a sign up, and you will approach which will start the class. Classes also require money)

Want to get into your enemies electronics, and make their technology useless?
Look for the Hacking class in the market!

Want to cut down a tree, or your foe?
Come to the Ax class!

Fiction goes to the shopps. Many people are moving around and about. Their is a Food Plaza, which has a Grenhold's Books of Knowledge next to it.

Wait, Mfank just posted? Stay their! i'll help you

EDIT:
The owner says "I would say it would be rather poliete, if the police were stopping the gangs...half of them probably are in the gangs" he muttered under his breath. "Well, this place was founded a few hundred years after the Medieval Revolution. We specialized in trading caravans, until some idiot gangsters came, and now there has not been a single trading caravan since." He sighed. "Now, you look like a fellow could use a book on Ice Magic. "I got to see a bit of your gang problem yesterday. The Jackels and the Texans went at it pretty good until Deric and some of my friends stepped in. You guys seem like decent people. Damn shame these gangs are taking advantage of you like this. Wonder if there was some way me n' my friends could help out. I mean if we could just get the police free of the corruption, or maybe something small...

As for the magic book. You guess correctly that I am a mage. However, ice is not my forte. In the town library where I was born, there was a few story books that spoke of the Shaddowfire. A very powerful race of mages that, as the book said, never studied elements outside of fire and shadow. Which lead the Shaddowfire to be rather misunderstood. You'd be surprised how often the dead can be misrepresented. It's the undead that scares the crap out of me. But as I was getting at, I don't know if I can to control all the elements, wind, light, water, stone, fire, and shadow, or only the few my ancestors understood. But as they are not around to teach me, I'll have to figure this out on my own. Do you happen to have any spell books more aligned with fire or shadow? Or perhaps other books of the history of this land?

hang on a sec...may I take a look at the ice spell book?"

Mahar is always up to a challenge, even when he's very unsure of himself as with this ice spell book.

(gold 100-15 for staying at the pub last night = 85 left over. Am I correct in assuming everyone started with 100 gold?)

EDIT
ooc: I read the 1st post wrong. It said 100 health. Then I'm assuming i owe the pub 15 gold? or I slept somewhere else last night? better question do I have any gold?

After 5 minutes or so, Vieto made it. (I am assuming this, sorry if I am modding your character to much) He called out for the lady, and she greeted herself. She wore a carpenter's clothing, and had brown hair that seemed to be lighter off the sun's reflection.

After a few moments, Mahar realized his rambling put the shop keeper to sleep. After thinking about the ice spell book for a bit, he realizes ice spells are likely impossible for him at this time. Still interested in the possibility of other spell books, Mahar starts to look around. After glancing around for a minute or two he notices Fiction looking at the 1st couple rows of books. Not wanting to distrube him, Mahar continues searching in the back for other spell books.

(ooc: so I have 85 gold left then. Good to know.)

Mahar browsed through the shelves, and did not find any books on Fire or Shadow. However, he did happen to find a book called Disarming Spells: Putting your Oppenent at a Great Disadvantage .

Just FYI, the guy isn't avatar isn't me. But he seems pretty cool.
