OOC: This looks awesome. I'm in the mood for a lighthearted, highly unusual romp like this. /OOC

A woman in her mid twenties was in the weapons shop, looking for a new whetstone. She wondered why so many people were in here right now.

Character: Erica Sloan. She was in her early teens when her town was attacked by a sorcerer. It turned out the man was sleepwalking, but nonetheless he still managed to summon a horde of demons that razed most of the town to the ground. Erica has since made a living in the wilderness, doing such things as capturing animals to sell to traders or gathering spider silk, coveted for it's soft yet durable nature. She has a fairly good knowledge of plants, animals, and nature in general. She can navigate by the stars alone, without the need for a compass. She despises magic users, but doesn't mind doing it herself (yeah, double standard, I know), though she isn't really skilled with any magic.

Appearance: 5'2", brown hair, green eyes, 6-inch burn scar on her left arm from the demon horde.

Equipment: Blowgun with 15 darts (tranquilizer), handmade oak bo staff, skinning knife. Sharktooth pendent for effect (just because it's sexy, it really doesn't do anything), canteen of water (3 drinks' worth). Currently wears black cargo jeans and a halter made of Allosaurus leather*.

*If permissible. Again, not really armor (it's a halter, for crying out loud), just for coolness.

Allright, i'll be modding now.

mfank:
The two hurry through the passway, as they here yells, jeers and insults from the two gangs. Soon, fighting breaks out and a few blasts of energy. Jack slows his pace down to fiddle for something in his pocket, and is knocked down by a projectile from the fight.

SuperTD:
The lady replies "Well, it is not physically a dog, it is the concious of a dog, locked in an inanimate object. A broom." She then took a few pictures out of her wallet to show a younger her, what seemed like playing, with a floating broom.

mickeyj300x:
Krazykate asked "Would you like any temporary weapons?"

Phoenix:
"Today is a good day for you, if that is what you are looking for" he replies. "We just got a new shippment of Reapearing Throwing Daggers, these things will come back after hitting a target."

SummerGlau:

Erica Sloan:
Nature: +8 Nature knowledge, and Nature-based powers
Survival: +9 From being in the wilderness, this power allows the user to cope better than other in rural areas and the wilderness.
Magic: +1 Fire, Ice, etc.
Also,
Clothes Bonus:
Charisma: Helps the user become more attractive, also helps in speech.

Erica could not find any Whetstones, just more modern sharpening devices.

Erica grabbed a handheld sharpener, and knew this would come in handy if she could get some scrap metal somewhere. She nodded to the woman at the counter. "Reappearing daggers, eh?" she asked. "Sounds impressive." She laid the sharpener on the counter, and flashed a smile at the dealer.

"My name's Erica," she said, extending a hand to the woman buying knives.

"Nice to meet you, Erica," Phoenix replied, accepting Erica's handshake. "You can call me Phoenix."

She looked over Erica's attire, eyes stopping to admire a beautiful tooth pendant. "Those are some very extravagant clothes - I've never seen anyone from around here wear that sort of thing. Are you from out of town?"

She turned back to the weapons dealer. "Those sound like they will come in handy - are they any more difficult to use than a normal dagger? How much are they?" she asked, reaching into a waist-pouch for her coins.

"No, I usually hang out in the wilderness," Erica said, digging out the coins for the sharpner. "Comfortable clothes go a long way out there, let me tell you. So, what's going on in town? Are you two part of a group or something?"

Be sure to read the first few posts, too.))

Phoenix let out a polite cough, trying to get the dealer's attention from detailing the records of the last purchase. She turned back to face Erica. "Oh, him? 'fraid not, I've not seen him before." she said. "Is it hard to survive in the wilderness? I hear it's quite dangerous. How do you manage? I myself have just arrived in Lorf from a city past the Northern mountain range, so I don't really know what's happening around here."

"I've spent years out there; I capture creatures sell to merchants, or collect plants, spider silk, that kind of thing," Erica replied, leaning on the counter waiting for the clerk to put down the magazine he was reading. "Yeah, it can be, erm, rough. Predators, bandits, Texan-wannabes," chuckle, "but it's not boring. I'm new to Lorf myself, I usually trade at cities south of here. But, a book I read said this place was 'where it's at,' whatever that means, and I decided to give this place a whirl. I thought about maybe hitting up some towns nearby, too."

Phoenix and SummerGlauFan are engaged in a conversation, which led me to a new feature in the game, Realations.
Relations are the level of relationships between Playing characters. Higher realations, not only improve the characters feelings to one another, but also allow them to do better when they are around each other. The level can be raised after a while from different interactions, from simple conversations, to doing a co-op quest. After a few interactions Here are a few different levels.

D- New Friend
C- Good Friend
B- Close Friend
A- Unbreakable Bond
S- Romantic Relationship (If Sexual Orientation permits)
Yeah, if anyone wants to PM their characters Sexual Orientation to me it would be fine, but I don't think we need anyone's yet.

Mahar thinks to himself, "well crap...there goes the play it safe idea. I guess it's time to have some fun..."

"Are you alright? Can you still run? I guess it's time I head toward the middle of this fight. Stay close to me. I'll make a distraction, and we should be able to run right on through." Mahar spoke quickly to Jack.

He turns to face the crazed crowd, dashes forward, and throws one of his bottles above the densest part of the fight. As the bottle is falling toward the crowd, Mahar creates a small fireball, and hurls it toward the bottle.

(Assuming that my scientific guess is correct) The combination of the two materials created a huge blaze. It mainly burnt a few Jackals, the Lights seized the oppurtunity to launch a suprise attack on the opposing gang. While the Jackals feld, only two Lights were injured. This was followed by some yelling which was too far away to make out, and then a few arrows landed around Mahar's perimiter.

Note: Two new characters are coming soon. One will be player-controlled, the other will be a NPC controlled by me.

"Is that sort of thing lucrative?" asked Phoenix, intrigued by the sort of life Erica described. "I'm going to assume so from your expensive fashion sense!" she added, with a giggle.

Tapping on the counter lightly, she looked down at her own attire. Perhaps time for some new clothes, she thought. She doubted her wallet could handle such an expenditure - let alone the reappearing daggers the storekeeper mentioned earlier.

"Excuse me," she said to the man. "Could we get some service here?"

Phoenix:
"Just one moment!" called the man at the counter, busy with one more customer. Meanwhile, someone came into the store.

Rob:

A man with a suit, with a very professional aura, stepped in front of the two ladies. "Hello you two, I am Rob. I am currently involved in Phoenix's group as a new member. Instead of going out and completeting tasks, or destroying monsters, I hold a job at the Bank of Lowf. Thankfully, it is a well guarded area in Lowf. If anybody in your group needs to drop some items, or make a deposit, I will hapily do it for the group. And, although I do not do much fighting, I will not heisitate to help out in a whole team battle. Here is my phone number, in case you need it. Thank you, and good day."
(I forgot to tell you, the percentage of people in this world that have phones, is similar to this one, so everyone on the team has one Cell Phone.

Rob then made a text to everyone on the team, telling them basically what he had said above.

"Well, you can make good money at it, but sometimes the luck of the draw means you spend a week and only catch a ferret. Thanks for the compliment, though! I had it made after I managed to actually get some allosaurus skin; I'll have to tell you that story sometime."

A nicely dressed man came in and offered his services as a banker. Even though Erica had a general mistrust of banking types, she was glad that his text to another group included her; this got her the numbers of another group. "Sweet, looks like some adventure types. It's always nice to get a break from lone travel every now and then."

Thanking the dealer, Phoenix walked out of the plaza; scanning the area for said notice board. After a few rounds around the courtyard, she finally spotted the wooden board. She read each notice.

Most of the requests had been taken. Only two remained:

Sneak Attack Against the Texans: This gang is giving our group to much trouble. Since our crappy police isn't going to lift a finger to stop them, we must fight ourselves!
Reward: 3 Health Potions, Steel Axe, 50 Gold

Attack against bandit camp!: Time to make Lowf a little safer! This may take a couple days, but we just need a few more troops, and we will supply you for those days with free food, shelter, etc. Plus, how bout' a good reward.
Reward: 5 Throwing Knives, Stab: The art of Knives, 500 Gold

Plus, SummerGlauFan, You know you have to do actions rather than just talk to do stuff, right?

Reading the notice board, she contemplated the two remaining jobs.

'Attack against bandit camp!' caught her eye immediately. Ah, a chance to get some practice with these daggers, she thought to herself. Reading the details underneath the blurb, she headed toward the address which the notice said to go for enquiries.

OOC: Yes, I did. That was really just a fast post on my part.

Erica read the board notices, and decided that she wanted to try the sneak attack on the Texans. As she headed toward the address, she was glad that she had brought the blowdarts along on this trip.

Mahar notices the arrows falling around them. He grabs Jacks arm and runs, zig zaging down the street, nearly dragging Jack behind. After a few moments pass and they've put some distance between them and the fight, Mahar slows down, releases Jack's arm, and begins to look around for where the arrows came from.

Mahar, giggling slightly, speaks to Jack, "Well that was close, but I don't think we are safe just yet."

The two of them continuing jogging down the road; Mahar's eyes peeled.

(ooc: yes...high proof alcohol and fire should create a relatively large fire. It won't hurt anyone too much, assuming they can put the fire out quickly (stop drop and roll). Nice to have you back DeLink, now I just need to be around more often.)

DeLink the First is dead. I am the new DeLink. I thank you, mfank, for trying to keep this alive and being my most loyal player. Sadly, for a few reasons, this game is dead. Expect a new game soon though.
