Actually, that's half the reason why I said backwards threads would never work. You have to anticipate the person ahead of you, and if you're the last person to post, you just look stupid.

Fun fact: In Vietnam there is a hotpink centipede that produces cyanide.

I still think that Vietnam is the best country to go to on a vacation. But you obviously don't want to listen to reason and obvious facts as I've laid out in my previous posts. So I'm just going to leave.

Mmm...true, but I've seen more shocking films. For example, clockwork orange, when it actually shows a woman being attempted gang raped, that was shocking despite having nothing to do with the plot. I admit I didn't know he was a ghost until the end but it wasn't shocking so much as "Oh...damn..."

See the difference between "shocking" and "a plot twist"?

I was shocked when I saw they cut out a bunch of the good Angels from the new Rebuild of Evangelion movies. :( I like what they did with the cube-one, but they dropped the fish-thing and the one that splits apart.

Yeah, another freaky movie that I'm not sure if I actually want to see is Legion.... a bunch of messed up, "evil" angels? Kind of makes me rethink the idea of angels....

Aliens are over-used as a plot device. Now, alien robots are fine, but the focus of the movie has to be on robots, like Transformers. Not aliens, like District 9.

If we're going to move onto the subject of movies, I have to say that District 9 was an amazing movie. It was artful and it was a great social commentary on all of humanity.

It's obvious to anyone with 1/10th of a brain that Lord of the Rings was an absolutely perfect movie because it featured 1) Orlando Bloom, 2) Agent Smith as Elrond, and 3) DWARVES!

That being said, I'm willing to agree that it would have been just a tiny bit more awesome if, for example, they'd had Gandalf whip out a Fender and run some wicked screaming metal passages before beating the Balrog to death with it.

[Meta-thread, yeah, there was a previous thread. I guess something bad happened in it? Or the forum ate it.]

Right, and that's exactly how I rescued Orlando Bloom from Cthulhu in time for him to play Legolas.

Speaking of which, What did you guys think of Lord of the Rings? I think that a lot of it could have been better.

I remember seeing this movie with a dragon and it bugged the hell out of me because the title was just like the word "dragon", but with one letter off or some stupid crap like that.

But it was a decent movie, other than that.

Well, I once saw part of an episode of Keeping Score (yes, I actually did find it interesting), and it talked about how Shostakovich totally changed the mood of parts of his 5th symphony with just a few notes' difference. That's one reason why people think the symphony was more than it seemed to be.

Isn't that neat? The way you look at words, too, can change completely with just one letter--in pronounciation, meaning...they can take on a different mood, too. Sometimes it's annoying.
