Sinex brings in quick succession out the 3. and 4. generation of Constructors, mostly by copying the "teleportation" technology that ROE had. The 4. Generation of Contructors can make pretty much anything at near molecular level, though there are some problems with living things (mostly, the speed). It is quick when accuracy of the finer structure is not important, but becomes much slower if it actually needs to assemble something at molecular level detail. As for material requirements, you still need to feed it the elements that the final product is supposed to have. Work is being done on changing atoms, so that any matter will suffice for input for the next generation. This will of course increase the energy requirements quite drastically.
Sinex has acquired nanotechnology and cyborgtechnology from former ROE equipment. They have also learned quite a bit about military technology, in which Sinex was lagging. Extreme caution is being used for studying the nanotechnology, as Sinex is aware of the risks. The technology for turning human minds into computers is not found, Sinex suspects that it was probably blown up in the explosion that killed the main AI.
Per request from Here Be Dragons, Sinex shares cyborgtechnology and safe specialized variants of nanotechnology (medical nanotech, and a lot of improvements for material; they can be waterresistant, self-mending, incredibly tough while light etc.) The more military technologies are not shared, though Here Be Dragon are informed of this.
The asteroid ships are in better shape than expected. There is a lot of damage to the asteroids, of course, but since they are just rocks, that doesn't matter. The actual spaceship components used to move and control the asteroids are mostly intact, as they were shielded from the actual explosions. Their circuits were just fried in the blast; so a few wires replaced makes them functional again. They are starting to be restored.
Sinex' industry has now only two types of factories: all-purpose Constructor factories (as pretty much anything can be made by Constructors, including Constructors), and nano-tech factories, which has more specialized equipment for safely creating nanotechnology.
Sinex starts an ambitious project code-named the Immortality Project. It aims at combining recent advances in nanotechnology, cyborgtechnology, genetechnology and cognitive sciences to make humans effectively immortal; to stop their aging, make them near immune to all diseases, make them much more resilient to damage and give them extremely quick regenerative properties. One of the greatest challenges will be to alter the mind so that immortality will not drive people insane; but so that they will still stay human. ((people having received this treatment could still be killed, it would just be much more difficult and they wouldn't die naturally))
