Use a splash attack, magikarp!

Postby Twasbrillig » Sun Jun 24, 2007 9:17 pm UTC

Join in on the fun! The greatest new forum game, based on the ever-popular flash.

The air is heating up as we join the finals here at Pokemon Stadium 2002 between the battle of Pokemon catcher Red and Pokemon catcher Blue!

[edit] I choose you, magikarp!
In b4 I'm not really into Pokemon

Sorry... First of all I most say that this flash animation was one of the worst I've seen in a long time. That being said... It's quite funny.

So, how to make this a forum game?
Splash attack!!!

I shamefully admit that I waited for it to loop and loop until one of them went 35 times. Because then Magikarp would be out of Splash attacks and could use Struggle, which would do something. I am a Pokenerd.

I choose you, MAGIKARP! *Trainer 11 sends out MAGIKARP* Use Splash attack!

The trick is to have Magicarp as your first pokémon for everything and switch him out straight away so he gets a bigger share of the xp (if he holds the xp share he gets three-quarters of the xp if he also "fights" because he gets half upfront, plus a split of the remainder).

Go! Pikachu!

Pickachu casts Thunderbolt!

It's super-effective!

That's one eff'd up somehow. It doesn't learn splash, it's born with it. And then it can learn tackle, which is still weak. Still, can't beat the payoff of raising one from a low level.

MAGIKARP faints!
I choose you, MAGIKARP! *sends out another one*
Use SPLASH!
MAGIKARP is paralyzed and unable to attack!

That's why I always left my magicarp at Day Care. You take it out at the appropriate level, send it through one or two fights and ta-dah! Instant Gyrados! Dragon attacks ftw.

EDIT: Now I have that Pokémon Master song stuck in my head. Thanks.

Plus, I have the images from that pokémon master clipthat I saw on YouTube that used pics from the first two Harry Potter movies where Lucius Malfoy is on guitar

But you can certainly sing a-long. Or more accurately, I'll sing along with you once I get a song sheet because the only words I can remember are "to be a master, pokémon master, I will be writing a brand new chapter" and "pokéball go!"

If your magicarp is still paralysed, I'm going to throw my dratini out there because it needs the xp and dragonaire>gyrados :D

...Okay, now I'm going to be up for another hour looking for that clip.

Maybe I should just send you the entire CD in a compressed folder? I'm partial to "Viridian City".

MAGIKARP uses Splash! It had no effect, because let's face it, it's the same thing as when it just flops around.

A good strong breeze could put my Magikarp out of its misery. Don't kid yourself.

*weeps* I traded my pokemon to my best friend when I moved to Florida so I could start a new game. I saw her almost a year later during a visit and she traded them back to me.
Then my game went and erased itself with TWO sets of kickass pokemon. And now it won't even save anymore!

MAGIKARP lies there, getting suntanned on one side.

Doesn't it just make you want to blow a cheap TM on magikarp because it seems so forlorn just floating there, with that incredibly vague look in its eyes?

Or just put it in some water. Dang, it can't even splash properly on dry ground.

hehe, that's the exact image I had in my mind, of poor magicarp on the ground doing that 'o' thing with it's mouth and flailing about, but then I was worried about the poor thing suffocating, so I switched it to "floating" because in the pokémon world, there's always convinient water nearby.

I should carry an inflatable kiddie pool.

Trainer: Are you ready for a POKEMON BATTLE?!
Me: *puff* Yeah, just lemme- *puff puff* blow up the pool. *PUFF* I have a Magikarp.

Oh right. Magikarp, use Splash!
MAGIKARP uses SPLASH!
No damage! But it gets water on everyone around.

"Pidgey use GUST to inflate my kiddie pool!"

Pidgey uses GUST.

It's super effective!

"Squirtle, use WATER CANNON to fill my kiddie pool!"

Squirtle uses WATER CANNON

"Vulpix, use FLAMETHROWER to cook my hotdogs!"

Pikachu's SPEED is greatly decreased from admiring magikarp's fine tan.

EDIT: in my defence, I haven't played in years. I didn't want to delete my pokémon and start over, but I had totally lost the thread and couldn't continue either.

Go, Golden Magikarp!
That's right, golden!
Doing the same amount of nothing in a shinier colour!

Edited because I tried to use html code and it didn't work.
But if anyone were ever to discover the meaning of life, all of space and time would collapse in on itself, and in the place that remained a large sign would appear saying:

It's not flopping. It's using its SPLASH attack.

Way to make it sound dirty.

I've tried to think of a more useless pokémon than the good ole magikarp, but I'm struggling. I like Butterfree for the spore and psychic attacks. Kakuna is pretty awful, I wasn't a fan of the beedrill.

Coughing and wheezing were pretty bad... that explode attack was terrible.
