York Orc? <- My second favorite.
Moscow sea cow?
Madrid ifrit?
Berlin Djinn? <- My favorite.

Edit: Some more I thought of.

Baltimore Manticore?
D.C. Pixie?
Satyr... city ending in "eer"?
St. Mary Fairy?

EDIT: OH. Rome Gnome. That has to be it. Please tell me that's it.

As a hint, could you state whether or not it's a state capital or a rough population estimate? Because I could, quite literally, do this all day. Also, I'm not listing any of the ones that end in city because they all rhyme with faerie/pixie/banshee. Also, may I suggest just using Ctrl+F for whatever city you picked.

Don't need to use ctrl f when you have firefox

It is not a capital. It is in the midwest

Norman Goblin/Gremlin/Djinn
Moore Manticore
Lawton Goblin/Gremlin/Djinn
Gillette Ifrit
Laramie Faerie/Pixie/Banshee
Wichita Manticore/Vampire (stretching it...)
Lenexa Pixie
Kearney Faerie/Pixie/Banshee

Layton Goblin/Gremlin/Djinn
Ogden Goblin/Gremlin/Djinn
West Jordan Goblin/Gremlin/Djinn
Sandy Banshee
Dixie Pixie - I don't think there's a city called Dixie, but "dixie" is a term for southerners and it does work well.
Des Moines Gnome - You'd have to say one or the other weird to get it to rhyme though.
Dayton Goblin/Gremlin/Djinn
Aberdeen Faerie/Pixie/Banshee

Hrm...

Nope, none of those!

Gonna let some more guesses go through before I give another hint, because I think it's going to make it pretty obvious.

I'm just about out, I went through all of the midwest states and picked out the more significant cities which had rhymes. Except Texas, because wikipedia doesn't have an "important cities and towns" section for it, but I already got the ones off the top of my head -- Austin, Dallas, Houston. Of course, somebody's gonna come along and guess exactly one creature and one city and get it.

Edit: I just realized I didn't put Satyr on my list of cities and haven't been checking that against cities, but I'm way too lazy to go through all of them again to do it.

You're probably going to smack yourself when someone figures it out. It has at least 50k people, so it's a decent size city (no, that wasn't the hint that was going to make it obvious).

gary rhymes with harry, fairy rhymes with hairy, harry and hairy do not rhyme,

i would say Gah-ree, fay-eree
the "ree" bit rhymes, but i wouldn't say it felt like a comfortable rhyme.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

Ha! In American English, Gary and Fairy rhyme perfectly. Gary, Indiana.

All this doesn't change the fact that it's BurningLed's turn. Go ahead, BurningLed.

Ah I assumed in British English fairy is pronounced fah-ree.

But yeah gary definitely rhymes with hairy in REAL english. I mean American. I mean... I hate my language.

so you pronounce hairy and harry the same? or does harry not rhyme with gary?

but fair enough, i still can't make myself say Gary and Fairy rhyming unless i put on a really thick Brooklyn accent.

There are many more Harry's in England than America, if that makes you feel better.

Dunno why you didn't notice it in those movies. Maybe look the trailers up on youtube?

edit: Maybe the american pronunciation for fairy and gary is a more subtle mix of the two british pronunciations, too. We don't say fay-ree, it's more like Ferry (although not exactly)
