Acronym Expansion

Postby Arancaytar » Mon Jul 30, 2007 12:59 pm UTC

I've seen this game on one board and introduced it to two others, and while it usually goes very slowly because it's tricky, it's really fun and trains the vocabulary.

The goal of the game is to find a phrase that can be acronymized to the challenge in the preceding post.

Rules for acronyms:
- Capitalization, spaces and punctuation can be ignored; only the letters matter.
- Every word in the solution counts, including those that are often left out ("of", "and", "the" ...), it just would be too easy otherwise.
- Hyphenated words may count as one or two words as needed (consistency is good though).

Oh, and do try not to go beyond 5-6 words in the challenge to keep it easy. If nobody responds for a few days, feel free to replace the last challenge with something easier.

------------

Example:

Fools! Really, I should try putting something onto this.

Next: Wikipedia

(Did I mention that it doesn't have to make any sense except being vaguely grammatically sound? And that it doesn't have to have anything to do with the challenge in question? Now I have. :) )

(As shown, the next word to be acronymized is "Wikipedia")

(Yes, I realize this is a lot like "five letters". It's more difficult, though, because of the longer words...)

While I know it's plausible, edits don't imply authoritativeness.

So tasty it could kill you! Toffee, or "Fun Food," eats easily.

(it's more fun, and harder if you try to make your acronym fit the expansion).

So, I got tired of the fact that the appearance of my band name in my signature made my posts on this forum the dominant result when googling for my music. Anyway, if you think I might happen to be a good musician, you can test this theory here.

Also, it turns out I'm not dead--I'm just a right bastard who disappears from the internet for months at a time every so often.
