Five minutes from Deansgate?

Best bet for a mask in general is NothingButCostumes, they support the movement, but I don't know how they work on an international scale. DO NOT buy from Forbidden Planet UK, they are awful for having in stock and getting them on time.

Pretty much. Will be in London at the time of this meeting - not that I know any people so well, but I think I'd recognise them on the street :)

There are the London ones to go to as well, if you want, but I don't think there'll be any xkcders going. All the cool kids go Manchester.

To be honest... I don't know whether I'll be able to make this one. I got a lot of shit on at the moment and this is one more thing that doesn't help with the load. I'll actually be in Malaysia for the one after that. If I've recovered by then (it's an expedition holiday, climbing mountains and trekking through the jungle and shiznit) I could make the one in August but if the aforementioned shit happens properly I won't make the September one. Well, not in this country anyway.

I had a fucked up dream about this meet this morning. Still debating if I should go or not.

Reasoning :
this is not just a xkcd meetup, but also a 4 chan meetup.
I do not know if I want to protest scientology.

I... hate to say this guys...

I might not be able to make it!

My EMA hasn't been coming in for the past couple of weeks (retarded teachers not turning up and so on), so I'm poor.

-ER than usual.

If I can scrounge £20 off my dad for next week, I -might- be able to make it, but I'll be poor as a church mouse when it comes to buying sweeties and so on. :|

Blame the government.

I get the injokes. I just don't want to be in /b in real life.

I don't know my stance on scientology.

It's not /b/ in real life, it's mostly enturb, inspired new protestors, and a couple of old guard. /b/like behaviour is very low.

NewPro: you would be attending an xkcd meetup!

(if you are unsure of your stance on scientology, I would say you do not know much about it)

Sleepy, if you can get yourself in to Manchester, I'll take care of you in regards too food, I'm far richer than normal. And if you need me to mail you a bit if money, I can probably mail you a tenner, MAYBE 15, but then I won't be able to buy quite as much food.

I barely even know what /b/ is, but I adore the protests, I meet some great fun people and we get to dress up and enjoy ourselves.

Nah, don't bother, I'm not gonna be able to make it. My dad made weekend plans. Sorry guys.

Crack yourself over the head with a cricket bat. Now type things on the internet.

Thats what /b/ is.

Objection! 4's /b/ has a thread of some content about once a day! Admittedly it just gets worse all the time, but some other channels have alright /b/ boards. I'm not going to defend it here, as really I can't be bothered digging around for the pasta, but I will say that /b/ does not represent all of 4, and acts as a filter for the rest of the board.

Bump for being just over a week away.
Dress up silly: There will be at least one other person doing so (in a red ranger costume no less).
SPAIS is the "theme", so if any of you have cosplayed TF2 characters, now's the time to bust out your costume again.

AW HELL NO. Why not?

Damn. I should still be able to make it, but it's no fun if I don't know anyone there! If Aramis can still make it, and can lead me from the station and whatnot, I'll try and make it down.

If SPIES is the theme, I'll try to knock out a costume. Maybe the Engineer if I can find a hard hat n some goggles cheap. Nah. I'm too skinny. I'm limited to Scout, Spy, and Sniper really. Skinny fucks.

To be honest sleepy, I don't think you could pull off a Sniper or a Spy. Too gritty and too suave, respectively. A Scout costume is easy though, get a red or blue t-shirt, some shorts, really long white socks, black football-like shoes, a cap and half a pair of headphones. Baseball bat is required, dogtags are optional.

It sucks I can't come to this one since I'll be on a coach to London on the day (technically not flying out untill Saturday but I don't exactly have any free time in between). When's the next one? As long as it's not on my mum's birthday I'll probably be able to make it (for once).

I have no idea. The protest starts at 11, and my train takes an hour. If I leave Leeds at 10, I'll be there for 11, but we'll need to arrive early. If I leave at 9, arrive at about 10, would that be good? If I had your phone number, I'd be more able to easily update you of where I am.

This is all on the basis that my EMA bonus comes in. And by now we all know of the reliability of my EMA. If it comes in before Friday, I'll come. :D

Long time lurker, howdy.
I'm fairly localish, so I should be attending.

I'll be getting into Piccadilly, not quite sure of what time yet (probably between 10-10.30), and I've got work in t'evening, so I might have to skip out early, but we'll see.
Hope to see lots of people there :D

There will probably be about 60 people or so there, unless some mass malediction affects all of the Mancunian protesters. 60 is what it seems to have stabilised at.

Bugger. That is the day of my birthday party. I'm supposed to be wrestling all morning, going out all night and then werstling the next day as well. I'll talk to Dave about it, but I may not be there.

Why can it not be the 9th?
