What basic color is it? Hopefully I can eliminate 50+% of the field of possibilities with that information...

It's black; also, tan shorts and a red swiss army backpack.

I'll be wearing Take Boat and blue jeans. I look like I need a haircut. Actually, I think I'll be wearing a grey fedora in case of rain.

Regarding watercraft: there is generally a substantial flotilla around (just not really close to) the fireworks barge. I've watched from a canoe in years past and might again today, depending on the weather. Whether that happens or not, I'd like to drop by the spot beforehand to meet you fine folks and play some Scrabble, if anybody's are into that sort of thing. I'll bring travel Scrabble, OSPD4, wine, and a pound of chocolate. I will likely wear brown pants and a green shirt.

Yeah, it was nice to meet new people (and to see non-new people again).

It was a pleasure meeting you all, and I hope everyone enjoyed the show! Here's a short, jerky vid of the view from the water: http://youtube.com/watch?v=27C-AHt3ufg

My Photos. These are mostly of the fireworks. A few that are not. Not the greatest in the world. Brought to you by an insurance company that is as irresponsible as I am.

Will your photos have commercial breaks?

Ugh, despite my whining, I’m glad I listened to those of you who were the voice of reason and didn’t walk part(/all the )way home.
I still believe it would have been more efficient at my normal walking speed, but as it turned out, I began to collapse during the train trip and barely made it in the door( missed the keyhole about 5 times) before passing out right at 32 hours.( Not even close to my all-time record, but a new record for <10 hours sleep prior.)

I don’t think they’re required to do that anymore.( Not that it’s not helpful.)

I posted on the intro anyways. May as well. : ) I've never really 'done' forums before, thanks for the tip.

I think the "WITH NO COMMERCIAL BREAKS!" line in announcing really took the cake last night. That was amazing.

The T was frelling insane last night, I had to beat my way *off* the trains, not to mention on. I'm surprised I got back to Chelsea before MBTA shut down for the night.

Seconded, although the green line wasn't nearly as insane as I thought it would be. I still had to stand up all the way to Riverside, which took about an hour or so. My shirt continued to get recognized, so I at least got to chat (briefly, anyway) with some other xkcd fans...

We ended up walking back to my place on the other side of Harvard Square. I'm pretty sure it ended up faster than taking the T.

I wouldn’t doubt it. T was an ordeal. But better than walking home after all, considering the state I was in. Sneaky Bake, choosing a spot in from which you could walk. :-P

I was on the first train leaving Kendall outbound and was in Davis by 11:15. Joey and I were out by sound tower 16 (Just up river of Ames St, looking out the gap in the trees over the boat house docks) and cut straight back trough MIT so we beat most of the crowd, but we were traveling really light too, so that helped.

For the record, I am now a huge fan of doing this from the Cambridge side rather than the Boston side. Soooooo much easier.
