Los Angeles - February 27 (±1), 2010

Postby Nadja » Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:12 am UTC

Gauging interest in having an Los Angeles meetup. I'm kind of bummed that there hasn't been a meetup thread for LA since 2008, so I figured I would try my hand at organizing one. Coffee or drinks would be a good start, but if people are interested, we could make it a bit more organized and actually do something: play board games, attend an event? Or what-have-you.

Possible places (in order of east-to-west):
1. Something at machineproject[.com]? (Maybe one of their free lectures or performances followed by food at the adjacent coffeeshop.)
2. LACMA (it's pay-what-you-want after 5pm) / La Brea Tar Pits?
3. Giant Robot and environs.
4. And of course, [generic chain coffeeshop whose familiar surroundings may soften the strangeness of meeting internet people].
...
I'm open to any suggestions on preferred venues.

Any takers? :)

I'm a taker! Of course, I'm also Nadja's boyfriend. But I would come to this even if I weren't, because MEETUPS ARE AWESOME.

Other people in LA: get off your asses and come hang out with us! It's fun. We will play nerdy games and eat food. A good time will be had by all.

Shit, I can't believe I missed this. Next time!

This reminds me, though: I should really start an Orange County meetup thread. If only because the OC is desperately lacking in awesome people (that I have met, at least).

I live in the L A area and I would be interested in a meetup.
How did this one go? did it happen? Is anyone interested in arranging another one?
