Ooooooooh. Gogol Bordello and Silversun Pickups is very tempting. This may or may not be a really terrible weekend for me... hopefully not. (Major work endeavor to go live on the Friday beforehand.) Um. Hm.

I think I'm going to buy myself a ticket and if everything blows up in my face will post here asking if anyone wants it and just face the $35 loss.

Grrrr if only I hadn't lost my only valid ID!!! That's a great lineup at the FNX Clambake! Gogol Bordello played at the House of Blues with DeVotchKa recently and it was amazing from what I heard - few bands are as uniquely suited to play the same show as those two. Enjoy, everyone who's going!!

It seems they're having shows at the Democracy Center in Cambridge (45 Mt Auburn St) now. There's one this Friday, the 18th, at 7pm. The bands are: Suis la Lune (Screamo from Sweden!), Sinaloa (local and not screamo at all), Pala (from Maryland, also not screamo but screaming is involved), Fair Root (also from Maryland) and Ape Up! (local and haven't heard them yet).

Cost is a "$5-$10 donation" so a 5 buck minimum, not too bad. I'm interested to see what the space is/sounds like!!

Ooo, Othello. I've been trying to hit the Shakespeare thing for a couple years now, with limited success and mild violence. I...wish I knew which shows I'd be in town for.

A bit late notice but the Boston Skeptics Society is having tonight an MST3King of "El Chupacrabra" at Tommy Doyle's in Harvard Square. Only detail is that TD's is a bar so may be an issue for the under 18 people. But other than that, looks like fun and I'm planning on being there.

It's at 7pm, and Tommy Doyle's is also a restaurant, so they're not going to be carding anyone that early.

Anyone west of Boston a bit, I'll be running the Kerouac 5k on Lowell on Sunday at noon. Come eat Cambodian cuisine with some of my sweaty labmates and myself, or, run the race!

I live in Lowell, but I'm not coming home this weekend. Also, Lowell is north, not west, of Boston.

Well, it's north and westish. I live in Waltham, which is west of Boston, and Lowell is almost directly north of me.

Barely west of Boston, but whatever.

Isn't that neighborhood really crappy? I walked over there once, thought I was going to get stabbed or something. Or maybe I was in some other place.

EDIT: do you go to UML, btw? My girlfriend goes there.

It's about a half hour drive on the 90, so... I dunno, sure, barely. Nearby suburb.

Waltham? It's not crappy. My standards right now are Englewood in Chicago though, so... Nah, Waltham's pretty quiet. Largely residential. My walk to town is through an unlit cemetery, and I feel pretty safe.

I goto Brandeis.

Sounds like fun, how was it?

So remember the movie "Let the Right One In" a couple years ago? Well someone decided to make a movie with almost the exact same premise, this time called "Let Me In" Free showing on the 30th of September at the Somerville at 11:15 PM.
