Any attendees from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA sound off for carpools and other measures.

I'm starting at WPI soon, so I'll probably be available and willing :)

I'll be going - but I'm an alum and live in Boston, now, so no carpool needed.

I might arrive on my motorcycle and shout "I run Linux!"

I'm a WPI student (whose last name is pretty easy to figure out from this username) and a recent addition to this forums. Whether I'm going to this flash-mob is somewhat up in the air due to work and my MQP, but it's conceivable at this point.

I'm a recent WPI alum and might be dragging myself into Boston for this, sounds like it'll be interesting

I'm a new student at WPI and I'm planning on going too. Any news on where the car pool would meet?

Sure

they're all basically the same, the only thing that differs is which comic is used.

Oh! I thought you meant a flyer for the meetup.

(So whose phone number is that?)

It's the They Might be Giants Dial-a-song I believe.

Haha, I saw the fliers too. I gave my copy to someone who hadn't seen the comic before, otherwise I'd post pic. The fliers have different comics on 'em (I had a kitten inanity one) - I'm not to sure when they started distrubting them, but haven't ran into another signs or posters yet. I'm guessing 6:20 is a safe time to arrive and assure a seat.

Avast other WPI freshmen! Its really cool to see other freshmen on these boards, particularly considering I've been posting (or lurking, at any rate) here long before I even applied to WPI. We should really meet at DAKA sometime, meeting some XKCDer's in person I think would be really fasinating.

EDIT: And yea, I'll take pics / try to record video. But thats definately coming second to enjoying and participating in the event.

Yeah video might be tough as I have no means of recording it. But you're really going as early as 6:20?

Well, I *was* gonna show up absurdly early and then just sit around reading Speaker for the Dead until things actually started to happen - but for some absurd reason the college's library hasn't got anything but an audio book of Enders Game. =-/

Oh well, I'll still be pretty early. For people looking for video of the event, I can only take marginal video with my digital camera, and I really don't want to stare at a camera display for the event, but I'll really try to a few quality photos of the event. See you there, emooze! (I'm the dude in the trench coat and sugnlasses, you've probably seen me on campus already)

I was impressed with the number of WPI people who managed to come down for the event. Also I like the new shirts, wish they had them when I was there.

I'm impressed that we have a thread! I was in a group of three WPIers and a Clarky. Yeah hi, Hermione over here. How goes?

Well, after all, Randall did give a talk at WPI last month, which I think this thread was actually about. On the other hand, I did see an SFS person or two at the meet.
