Just research in the post your face thread damnit!

anyway, it looks like I wont be going... *way* too busy, and theres a lan party that weekend anyway...

Oh, if anyone wants to go to that lan, just PM me and you can get details, because its open to anyone... heh. My non-uni friends dont seem to want to go though (cause they suck)

Wear an overcoat, and tap people on the shoulder as they go by. Then open your overcoat, flasher-style, to reveal xkcd-related things on the inside, such as no-raptor badges or comic prints. If they run off in fright, then they're not there for the meatup. (accidental misspelling but lol anyway.) Of course be wearing clothes underneath.

Or you could all just write xkcd on nametags and stick them on your shirt/whatever.

Or shout xkcd.

Or, dress as your favourite xkcd character. Walk around in a barrel, get a red spider costume, wear a top hat, cut people's hands off if you see them make stupid jokes, grow your hair into a ponytail or like choices girl, staple a beret to your head, or go with 2 other friends and stand around with instruments with a sign proclaiming your band is called Hedgeclipper, or dress as Girl Sleeping (11th grade Spanish class).

Or when 5 of you get there form a pentagram by lying on the ground.

Or stand on the side of the road, preacher style, brandishing a LISP or Perl book, espousing the greatness of said language.

I do not photograph well. There are very few pictures of me or my face that are recent or even in digital format.

However, the point is now moot, as I regretfully can't make it. I just have far too much work piling up and I can't justify the time off. Oh well, next time.

Guys, this is 9 days away. Who exactly is coming? I am coming.

I do not really want the "maybe" people right now, I am after the "do not forget to look for me in Manning because I am going to definitely be there" people.

I am so there.

Somebody needs to bring a video camera and be precisely at that time (preferably early).

Trust me.

That said, I need to find a boombox...

Edit: Whoops, I thought this was for the one in Boston. Damnit...

Have fun in my stead.

Aside from being broke, it turns out I'm also running wind tunnel tests that week, so that's the nail in the coffin for me. :( Have fun, as with the Boston guys I expect lots of photos/videos/recordings of shenanigans. Preferably drunken shenanigans.

I'm hoping for pants optional drunken shenanigans.

Also, I take it we'll meet at Manning now that hermaj has guides? Say nothing people if that's what you want me to infer.

I has a guide! I can meet anywhere! I will however be partying with my pants firmly on. :P

Also, I don't know Manning well. Damien, is there a landmark type structure within the bar? "Let us all meet under the giant fish" or some such? (I would love if there was a giant fish.)

I think we'll be right. it's not exactly huge, nor is it crowded on a sunday afternoon. :)

Hermaj has pictures. We had a lovely time. :D
Was particularly good meeting xkcders who were not very well known to me (hi gormster!).

We had epic beer and pancakes and a pizza made ENTIRELY of bacon. we met tegan's avatar. there was a magritte on the wall. And beanbags. and...probably some other stuff. But mostly it was just good hanging out with internet people. Do it again soon, peoples :D

When gallant Cook from Albion sailed,
To trace wide oceans o'er,
True British courage bore him on,
Til he landed on our shore.
Then here he raised Old England's flag,
The standard of the brave;
With all her faults we love her still,
"Britannia rules the wave!"

Yes, I have most/all of the pictures. Coming as soon as I can figure out how to use Gallery 2. (Don't look at me, I just administrate it )

EDIT: Okay, there are some in my album for you to look at, including some of us, the bacon pizza and what I assume is the picture Damien mentioned. I'll upload more and add some captions and things tomorrow.

They're not in particularly high resolution because I didn't think to change my camera settings. I will upload more and label this evening when I have a good block of time to get it all done.

We were thinking of going for drinks in early December - Damien and I have birthdays close together. However, I might be going to Melbourne, and I probably am going to Queensland, so I'm not exactly sure of dates yet.

My Dad and I were thinking of going for my birthday. However, he's a bit low on finances and Brett's talking about going to Queensland early December. So, it will probably be Queensland, but there's a small chance I could be going to Melbourne at some point also.

Yeah, the only time I'd be able to get to Melbourne would be over christmas, and I'd more than likely be stuck at the grandparents house with no way of getting to the meet anyway.

Oh, no no, there will be a meet in Sydney... I am not going to make Damien come all the way to Melbourne or Brisbane to drink with me :P I mean, I don't know when it can be because I don't know when I'm in Sydney and when I'm not. And obviously, on what looks like the pretty unlikely chance I end up in Melbourne, I will definitely hang out with the Melbourne people.

i was hoping to go to melbourne later this year, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. still, it may happen, and there will be shenanigans if it does :D

but otherwise, well, me or tegan or both of us will almost certainly be having birthday drinks, and you may get an invite to one of those events (if you're good).
