I was going outside to put some equipment away. When I opened the door a cicada flew into the house. This was quite terrifying in its self. Then instead of just resting on the light like I thought it would it started to buzz around madly.
I tried peaceful resolutions at first. I tried to bat it away with a broom I tried trapping it under a cup. All to no avail. Then I tried to redirect by switching the lights on and off. This just caused it to fly into my room. Now things had become personal.
I grabbed a carpet and a broom and ventured forth. When I entered my room I could hear its maddening buzz from somewhere hidden. My room has a lot of shelf and clutter he could have been anywhere. I cautiously searched for the beast. I zoned into the humming and found it was resting on one of my roommates camera stands.
I put the stand on the ground and threw the carpet on it. I could hear the hellbeast buzzing trying to find a way out. Each time I struck it seemed to only make the creature angrier. The mix of crunching and hums became maddening. Until they finally stopped.
I was hesitant to lift the carpet for fear of the beast feigning death. I slowly lifted the carpet. There the beast corpse lay. Smooched to almost an unrecognizable state. I gave the beast a proper burial. Into the dumpster. I feel as if I learned much from this battle. Though I also believe that I have not seen the last of this beast. >_>

I tend to crush flies and small insects manually. It seems to disgust people, but something about lives insects triggers a desire to kill and kill right now.
Spiders, roaches, and other largies do gross me out too much for that though. For them it's vacuum cleaner time.

For most slow moving things, manual squishing works. For everything else, I have a deodorant can and lighter nearby. Crude but it has high aoe fire elemental damage, which they're weak against.

You seriously need to invest in dexterity. Enable stealth mode and creep slowly next to the mob, the one-shot it.
I haven't found a way to cast curse of recklessness yet.

I recently found out that spray on sun screen kills earwigs.
This slightly unsettles me.
All Shadow priest spells that deal Fire damage now appear green.
Big freaky cereal boxes of death.

Some mobs, like flies, have an uncannily high evasion rating. But there's a trick to killing them. Swat the air above it, and you're almost guaranteed a critical hit.

I tried hitting it the old fashioned way with a rolled up newspaper. It just kept spamming fear and dodging my hits. I swear that thing was out for blood.

Trust me, I'm really proficient in stealth kills. In fact, my favorite method is the backhand midair hand whip, the idea is to whip your hand and hit with the back of the nail. However, ones that keep flying to the ceiling or just very quick ones that fly around things that can't be swatted again a lot need something more.
The deodorant is the last resort, but super effective.

Years ago my parents' house had a wasp infestation indoors. I would get this "goosebumps creeping up the neck" feeling when I would hear the "bzzt" sound in the room but couldn't tell where it was coming from. But once I located them, I found the "hit it to the floor with a t-shirt, then stomp" method to be quite effective.

I try not to kill bugs, but Ive gotten pretty good at catching them and letting them go outside. Unless theyre ticks or other bloodsucking bugs. They get killed in a variety of ways.
