Muse - Madness

I offer the mods some tunes to which they may listen while plotting their malicious and whimsical plots.

That's typical of global announcements, I believe, since it doesn't know which subforum to count the views in.
Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

If previous years are any indication, I expect at least one filter that breaks the board to the point of unusability (albeit very briefly), and at least one thread complaining about the existence of mod madness as a thing, by someone who will coincidentally get temp-banned shortly thereafter.

Of course, all of this depends on the assumption that the admin panel ever comes back online.

So I normally use fora.xkcd but I followed a forums.xkcd link here so I wasn't logged in and using the Pacific time zone. And I wondered when the madness started, but it was apparently like four hours in the future?

This might actually be driving me mad. I was checking the time on fora.xkcd.com and was just like HOW.

Uses word filters to change words/phrases into something else. For example, "lost the ga me" without the space. Turns into "lost twenty dollars and my self respect". Remembers "one" -> "half two" from a previous Mod Madness. Forgets the Hulk one. Was it "I want" -> "HULK WANT"?

Pre-emptive edit: Do not expect this to make sense later.

The word "cheesegrater" is a leftover from a past Madness. Any instance of "word filter" on the boards was auto-changed to "cheesegrater" for a few days, so people just started typing in "cheesegrater".

Just remember to play this video when the madness starts!:

Note: 4 out of five people that watched the video either didn't know what they just watched, had to turn off the pictures in order to listen to the music, (or for those speaking Spanish) ignore the poem to see the pictures, or turn off the music to read the poem!

The other fun thing about global threads is that the links you see for individual posts also reflect whatever subforum you clicked through to read it that particular time (or whichever one your egosearch decided to assign to this thread, which may simply be random). Which all ends up meaning that mod-posted links will sometimes try to take you to one of the literally* dozens of subfora you can't access.
