Edit: Welcome to those who are not bots! :D

My Shadow: maybe you may want to lurk in the Women's Thread or Fleeting/Random thoughts? Or maybe the games.. lurking anywhere can be great..
I'm tired, maybe this does not make sense all together. But welcome. :)

Good morning all! I've posted on a couple of threads before, so I thought I should take some small effort to introduce myself.

I'm a mid-30s ex-pat Brit currently living in Northern Alabama. I immigrated into the USA from the UK just over a year ago to marry the love of my life, and we've been living happily ever after - at least, so far!

Been reading XKCD for ages, but only registered on the forum when I saw an interesting thread I felt I could actually provide something to. That's a common posting habit of mine, so I doubt I'll be posting too often.

I enjoy a lot of things, but particularly tabletop RPGs and MMOs (I first met my wife in EverQuest).

I'm not exactly new, but I've never posted in this thread

My name is David, I'm a guy(obviously) and in 9th grade. I live near NYC, but not in the city itself. I have few "hobbies" so to speak, but those are tennis, reading, math, the forum games section, and (minorly) reddit.

I live in the north-west of England and my hobbies (roughly ordered according to how often I indulge them) include maths, video games, physics, and computer programming. Sport is a big no-no for me; I just can't see the attraction in it. I've been told that I'm good at writing fiction, though I'm inclined to believe otherwise and given that I can't stand it how good I am at it is pretty irrelevant. Currently progressing through secondary school, I have no complaint about the students or teachers per se, but the pace is incredibly slow.

My main computer is, perhaps unfortunately, a laptop that the gremlins have attacked in full force. Some of the keys on the keyboard (most notably 'e', 'i' and 'o') only work intermittantly, the touchpad doesn't want to work properly at all (it's turned on and configured on both Ubuntu and Vista but it insists on either not working at all or not clicking) and I've had to purchase a new transformer after it began smoking and sparking at whatever poor soul plugged it in (I don't have a clue why this happened, actually; I suppose the gremlins must have come armed with scissors one night since my mouse's cable also ended up partially broken soon after).

I registered quite a while ago, but I've been pretty much inactive since registration and thus never bothered to post here.

Hello all. I joined the forum to comment on the logic board. I quite enjoy the comic strip, and if I am ever am quite bored/procrastinating from schoolwork I may start wandering into other boards. I am a senior philosophy major in college, and applying to graduate schools in the hopes of starting my Ph.D. in the subject this next year.

Hello, my name is Jessica. I've been a member of this forum for a few months but so far I've mostly been lurking. I'm 20 years old and currently living in Honolulu, HI with my husband, JD (known to the fora as Punkrock Cowboy). It's been a really strange move for both of us since all of our friends and family are back on the mainland. He's in the coast guard and has just started a 6 month deployment, so to keep myself from possibly going insane I'm going to try and be a more active contributor to this forum.

I'm a sophomore at the University of Hawaii Manoa and I'm majoring in English. I hope to have my bachelors degree knocked out by the time my husband and I leave the island, and I'd someday like to be a published author. I love concerts and literature as well as harmless mischief and general hilarity. If anyone at UHM (or anyone on Oahu... or just anyone for that matter) is looking for a friend, I'm trying to move past my shy nature and make a friend or two myself, especially while the husband is away. My myspace is http://myspace.com/sheshescreamsinsilence if you want to check it out. I'm hoping this new-kid-in-town feeling subsides (on the fora as well as here in Honolulu). Hopefully you'll be seeing more of me around here. Thanks for reading.

I'm Mike. I've been reading xkcd for a long time ever since my friend introduced me to it, but I just decided to join the forums. I'm a freshman in high school. I'm from around Saratoga, NY.

I play guitar, I'm in a band and recorded my own CD, and I love my Epi Les Paul.

I'm on the FIRST Robotics Team at my school (usfirst.org) and I mainly do web development for the team, as I'm better at web than programming, though I do both (I know a lil C++, which my teacher finds absolutely awesome).

I'm obsessed with Green Day, I have their entire discography on my iPod (I'm only missing like 2 or 3 songs which weren't even really released :D). I also really like Rush a lot.

So hey.

Edit: I notice the person above me is a Green Day fan also, noticing their MySpace url :P
Edit2: And their entire MySpace page :D (I'm already liking this place!)

I made a point to burn all of the photographs,
She went away and then I took a different path,
I remember the face but I can't recall the name,
Now I wonder how Whatsername has been.

~Green Day, "Whatsername"

15-year-old female from Singapore, who loves reading/ listening to music like most other teens. I don't play that many games, just quick online ones, and I've been lurking around on xkcd's Individual Comic Threads for a year or so, but only decided to join when I read the discussions in the other categories.

I'm quite good at but not totally passionate about math, and somewhat passionate about computer-related stuff (whether hardware or software) but not good at them at all. Especially sucky in programming, etc. - I take a long time to learn them, then forget at once. So I resort to wikiing many of the references made in xkcd's comics.

I probably won't have time to come to the forums once school starts again (actually, it has already started, just that it's slack at the beginning) so I'll have long periods of inactivity.

I shoot a .177 air pistol (10m) as part of my after-school activity. That's about all :D

Hello hello

Long-time lurker and xkcd fan finally checking in after pestering from Felltir to get my ass involved.

I'm a recent uni graduate in London, UK, and my job is somewhat difficult to describe - basically, if you see any kind of projected image or content in theatre, music events, corporate events, or any other live event, my job is to be responsible for the technical equipment which stores, loads, manipulates, and outputs that content. That's probably a horribly broken way of describing it too... I'm a rather geeky person, and I love how my job lets me be geeky and creative at the same time, allowing me to express two very important parts of my personality.

I like computers, dislike books (not my fault, blame my brain for being a bit silly when it comes to getting words in the right order), love weird things, and hate having to wait for stuff.

To those who are curious (and those who aren't but are unable to turn off their eyes) my username is a throwback to my more adolescent days when the word deistic purely meant 'something similar to a god' and not the particular brand of theism that i do not subscribe to. Other than that i'm a pretty easy-going, amiable person. My only pet peeve being people who maintain that those who occasionally succumb to logical fallacies are sub-human and must be told so immediately.

I'm pastrybot (redct on lots of other sites, Nathaniel in the real world) and I'm, like many others, a long time forum and comic reader who's just signed up now. Fifteen years old.

My username: taken from participating of the great Pastry Wars of 2008 (which is a bit of an inside joke on another forum I frequent, unfiction).

Me? I'm a high school student in the great city of Austin, Texas. I'm a fan of photography (that always ends up horribly), alternate reality gaming, chatting on IRC, and reading XKCD.

Check out my profile links for more info if you're really that into stalking me ;)

Gee, hi people.

I've been lurking around and reading the comic for about a year now, and thought it would be a good idea to actually join.

So, I'm sporty, doing a lot of stuff all the time. I'm kind of a nerd, which I don't mind. Some of the things I like to do is draw, read (comics and science books), be utside or at my trainings, practice my coin/card magic, learn about computers and sleep.
Many of these things I do whilst listening to music or thinking about my ignored homework (I'm at Upper Secondary, a year too early).

And that's really all of me.

Attention new posters, be careful when you see this:

Sometimes there is red text instead of red dot, take that seriously too. But it just looks like text because there are impurities in air teh tubes, causing scattering.

Greetings, I am Seanbot.
I'm a little young, (15), but I'm smart enough to understand what's going on, maybe not old enough to contribute anything important to these giant philosophical discussions that happen here. Probably.
I'm into off-mainstream music, programming (even though I'm not good at it), video games in general, food in general and cannot be deprived of my internet.
I try to do lot's of projects, which end up caving in on me due to procrastination and I'm Australian and an open-source aficionado.
And I'm into detailed information.
