So there.

Initially I was referring to Lovecraft, as he is rather racist. You are carrying out a selective breeding program; perfectly natural for bunnies (also cute) but kind of racist if you did it to people, so I thought it was time for a eugenics chuckle. I suppose you have to spell everything out for Michigeese.

I think I am somewhere lest 20th in terms of oldest registration among currently active posters (unsure because I didn't check if someone with 50 posts in the list is still kicking around, solving a logic puzzle once every other month).

This is a bit surprising. I didn't spend time here at all for the first two years, so I don't know what went on. Was there ever a mass leaving or anything like that?

Could have been. I just know that there are maybe three, four screennames that I recognize right now, in the few threads I've been in since my return a few hours ago. I used to be tight with all the regulars, yo.

(Not really "tight", I guess, but I knew them and they knew mewell enough to make fun of me incessantly.)

So I've managed to avoid this thread for the better part of a year now, but this fungus needs to spread. There's this Bacardi commercial they've been playing a lot that's... a bit odd. The idea is rather clever, and well executed, but when they needed to have a guy that "looks like a guy from 1862"... they made him look an awful lot like John Wilkes Booth

tl;dr: Bacardi = Confederate sympathizers

Once upon a time, there were three mayors who were actually good friends. When they decided that an area airport was needed, they played a game of poker to decide what order the cities would be listed.

The Midland-Bay City-Saginaw airport is called such because thats the order the mayors ranked in the game.

True story. (Edit: Almost. It was the Tri-City airport until 1994. But after that..)

Hi there, I own the website The Romantic Hen, linked to above. Just spotted some traffic coming in from xkcd forums, so popped along to find out why. I'm not sure who the person linking to our site is, but am mildly mortified that it looks as if I'm spamming my own site on here. If it's someone who liked the site genuinely trying to help by linking around, then, er thanks, but please don't spam sites, because it looks like we're doing it. And we're not.

As someone who has read and enjoyed xkcd for longer than I can remember, I'm a little sad that my first venture in to the forum [EDIT: or do I mean fora?] was for this reason, but felt the need to point out that this wasn't something coming from the site owners. We're a very new site, made just for fun, and are not the kind of people to splash spammy links around the place willy nilly.
