To a historian, classical means 2000 years old.
To a physicist, classical means more than 100 years old.

You can't explain that.

To an American, 400 years is a long time, while 400 miles is a short distance.
To a European, 400 years is a short time, while 400 miles is a long distance.

In a logarithmic universe, it's 4 times longer to the moon than it is to the convenience store on the corner of the street.

I'm pretty sure that depends what units you're using... you can't just say "log-scale distance" and then start using multiplication...

Code: Select all

enum ಠ_ಠ {°□°╰=1, °Д°╰, ಠ益ಠ╰};
void ┻━┻︵╰(ಠ_ಠ ⚠) {exit((int)⚠);}

I was under the impression people were using meters, which also makes sense as standard people have a one meter gait.

When you post I don't feel so bad for being up this late, YSN.

And a one meter gait sounds too long. 3/4ths I would guess, rather.

Because the denizens of my nation are a peculiarly fatuous breed of imbecile, our government's online petition service has come back into the public eye:

Image

My first thought? Use the damn search function, you pricks! Eight (8!) open petitions when there should actually be two, or preferably zero. We don't have capital punishment because we are not savages.

Whilst making that small montage, the "Petition to retain the ban on Capital Punishment" has jumped by over 160 signatures, restoring my faith somewhat. "Restore Capital Punishment" has increased by 40ish.
Away, you scullion! you rampallion! You fustilarian! I'll tickle your catastrophe.

It turns out that I'll be making $737.53 more a month when I finally sew on E-5, but if you take into account that I will be getting housing allowance at Nellis and I'm currently not getting it here, while at the same time I'm getting COLA here and won't at Nellis, I'm losing approximately $282.47 a month.

To those of you who are going to reinstall Deus Ex: try and find one of the texture packs out there. I've heard that some have been completed, but the only one I've seen is a work in progress. DE:2 has some a completed one, though. Not nearly as good of a game, however.

My current situation:
E-4 living in the dormitories at Elmendorf: $2230.80 base pay + $8.10 housing allowance + $323.87 sustenance allowance + $491.87 cost of living allowance + $300.00 language proficiency pay = $3354.64
100% ($3354.64) of that is take home pay.

What my situation will be like in about six months
E-5 living off base in Las Vegas: $2448.30 base pay + $1020.00 housing allowance + $323.87 sustenance allowance + $0.00 cost of living allowance + $300.00 language proficiency pay = $4092.17
75% ($3072.17) of that will be take home pay.

I shall look into those, although there is something to be said for the old style look of it. yay for nostalgia for
I've made it a rule now that all computers that I own forthwith shall have Deus Ex installed upon them, just in case. This should speed up the inevitable replays and reduce chance of not being able to play. Plus maybe an emergency pack with it in next to the zombie apocalypse survival pack. This ranks just as high.
