Oooohh.

Woke up 5 AM. Went for a long walk. Felt like being in a zombie movie. Just me, and (drunk) people shuffling around.

Drunk zombies would be a great premise for a zombie movie. It'd be like The Hangover, but with horror.

Oh, God. We really do not need another Hangover movie.

I just found out the other day that they're making a sequel to Taken. As badass as Liam Neeson was in that movie, I thought the movie stood out well enough on its own. I don't think it really needs a sequel. Though, like the stupid consumer I am, I'll probably watch it.

Did Hijinks Ensue tell you? They told me. I agree, I don't think a sequel was necessary or will be as good and, judging by the brief synopsis on wikipedia, I'm not expecting much.

It's 5:30am and I just finished work. I could have finished this work way sooner, but instead I watched Disney's Robin Hood last night and slept in until lunchtime today, then I kind of slacked off and watched some TV this evening as well.
I actually feel pretty great right now, to be honest.

Oh man, my favourite is when you wake up really early in a big city (like Hong Kong, for example), and you just know that in the day ahead, the streets you're walking are going to be both chock-a-bloc and absolutely sweltering, but right now they're wonderfully cool and completely deserted.

I need help. I'm looking for an app, or possibly a program.

I'm looking for a way to very rapidly view and rank a large number of photos. Full screen display is a must. Speed is the most important consideration - granularity isn't too important. I also need to be able to use the rating to sort the photos into separate folders. A simple keep/delete system would also work.

Qualified executables will run on Windows Vista or 7, Android 4.0.x, and/or Debian Linux. Free would be an advantage, but price is negotiable.

Does anyone know of anything that would meet those requirements?

Take a huge pile of photos, sort through them, and find and keep the top 1% or so. Ideally very quickly.

Ivy. Ivy is surprisingly scary. I just went out into my back garden to find my bike utterly entangled in the stuff. I had only ridden the damn thing a month or so ago. But I went out there today to find it entangled in ivy. Seriously, it was so entwined, no amount of brute force would allow me to pull it free. The fence under which it had crawled would have broken first. It's like some tentacled monster. Some eldritch abomination that had extended its horrific tendrils to ensnare my bike. It wrapped itself around the frame, through the chain, through the spokes of the wheels, and around the handlebars. Twisting around to have an unbreakable grip.

I had to use cutters to free it. But I know it's only a matter of time. Those tendrils will keep growing. They'll keep twisting and turning and wrapping themselves around anything they find. They're unstoppable. They're slow but they're unstoppable. I think they will eventually consume my house.

Yeah, it grows fast, and I wouldn't be surprised if the total length of all of it surrounding your house were several miles long. In fact, you could call it...

*slow clap*

A house I used to live in had such bad ivy that we had to get people in to abseil down from the roof to remove it, because if left unchecked it would probably have ripped the house down.

If you're a nitpicky Firefox user, you'll probably be wanting this right about now.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... scrolling/
I recommend step size to about 70-80, smoothness (forepart) to about 10, and smoothness to 0, to get it back to what it used to be like in Firefox 12.

Sadly it doesn't get rid of the weird over-scrolling effect. That's just stupid. It's like, "Oh, you're trying to imitate smartphone browsers? Oh that's cute. No, not really, go away."

Are we thinking of the same thing? When I said "over-scrolling", I was talking about this:
Untitled.png

The area that I scribbled over in red. And how the scrolling reaches the top or bottom of the page and then keeps going, then snaps back.

I'm not having any issues with scrolling... But Youtube is weird. If I click something in the video then click the page outside, the focus stays on the video frame.

Edit: Ah, now I see what you mean.

What version of Firefox is this problem visible in? I'm using 13.0.1 and I don't see it.

It's not a problem, it's a feature. Yes, it's 13.0.1, in which they made scrolling much smoother and also made it extend past the top or bottom of the page and the snap back, like smartphones do. The smoothness can be adjusted with the add-on I linked above if you're bothered by it.

Obvious misinterpretation. brakos82 was just trying to say that the dear Firefoxes belonging to his/her PC are not smartphones. :P
