I do not celebrate Christmas. My favorite part of it is time and a half.

I used to get 2.5x pay for working on holidays, but now I'm salaried so I only get "thanks for working on Christmas, heathen!" And also a quiet office, which is the real bonus.

Dunno. I've never always really seen Christmas as a secular holiday more than a religious one.

Possibly a side effect of living in one of the more secular countries in the world.

You mean always seen, right?

Either way, it's highly pagan and has nothing to do with Jesus, so, yeah.

Rascally rabbit, now you got me thinking about oatmeal cookies! I'm talking about the recipe from the Quaker Oats box. Right out of the oven. Damn those are good. Wow, spiced rum egg nog and some oatmeal cookies.

I have, obviously, already read that series. Ahem. I mean trilogy.

Uh, is there a reason why two of them don't count? Because I liked all five.

Eh, I've put it on my wishlist. I should probably point out that I do not possess the key to hammerspace, and thus do not have an infinite amount of money to buy books. I think I'll stick with the books I bought for now, and see if I can find those other books in my university library somewhere in the next week.

Random thought that may offend a few people for its lack of modesty: it turns out that being somewhat of a genius who can learn most things and being an extreme geek who likes spending most of his time learning/reading, does not stop one from worrying that there isn't a single job I would not ultimately find boring and unsatisfying. More annoyingly, all this worrying is actually taking away time I'd much rather spend, you know, doing the stuff I enjoy. I want a different brain. *grumble*

I don't know the area, but isn't ~460 a month a bit expensive for those conditions? It's essentially a large hotel room. A shoddy one, because any decent hotel has a shower.

Looks like it! Tenants tend to have pesky little things called "rights," and I'm pretty sure that boat isn't up to code. Which is funny since, as Darknut says, anyone who fits their criteria is likely to recognize the arrangement as bristling with red flags.

Plus that boat looks like it's in pretty bad shape.

I think that would be expensive for that thing anywhere. What really got me is the "You must be out every day at your job and not at home"...so I can enter while you're gone and steal your stuff.

I'm not sure what to say exactly I'm really sick today. I was in bed until 1430. I'm sore/achey. I've got quite the head ache. I'm coughing. I feel like crap, but I'm at my parents house for the holiday so I'm not missing any work, which is a definite plus, and my mom still pampers me when I'm here and sick, even tho' I'm 30, married and have kids of my own.

I don't know, it would be considered a steal compared to some of the rental units around here. Probably less drafty, too, though access to public transit likely isn't as good.
