I stopped drinking soda when I started Whole30. I'm craving a Coke Zero right now, but water's just going to have to do.

When I woke up this morning, I found an old empty box outside of my bedroom. The thing is, I can remember getting up half-asleep and throwing it there, like it was most well justified course of action in the world. Like why wouldn't you have an empty box there?

But I can't remember why on earth I did it.
I edit my posts a lot and sometimes the words wrong order words appear in sentences get messed up.

It's a lot easier to find in the UK, but if Wikipedia is to be believed, it's available in the US too.[1]

I found it once in Washington. Now I wish I'd bought it.

I am indulging in Diet Coke to curb my pop craving, since most of what I want is something cold and carbonated.

I realized a while ago that I drank soda not because I actually like the soda, but because I crave bubbles and fizz. So I try only to drink seltzer water and the like to satisfy the craving without all that pesky sugar. That said, I don't think I'll ever kick my diet Coke addiction.

i must say, on the soda front the Americans certainly do know best

i import cherry dr pepper now by the carton

although i have had to stop recently as finances have been right, which means im stuck drinking LA ICE (which is horrible cola) and like $0.50 a litre in aus... compared to $3 for coke

LA ICE and expensive scotch.... yep i know where my priorities lie

I usually drink Coke products. Only time I'll drink Pepsi is if it's the only thing available, and what I'm having goes best with cola than any other beverage, such as pizza.

I've taken a liking to Red Rock Cola when I can find it, and Mexican Coke. Both are awesome for two reasons: 1. They come in glass bottles, which remain colder longer, and 2. They are both made with pure cane sugar, not that HFCS shit.

I found 4 rather large maggots on my bed. I knew I was kinda dead inside, but I didn't know it was this bad!

More seriously, I don't know where they come from. The last one made a sound and appeared squirming on my laptop keyboard: I assume it fell. But there doesn't seem to be anything they could have fallen from. This is really weird. I captured one of them alive. Anyone know what those are? (the head seems to be expanding/retracting sometimes)

Could they have come from the ceiling?

If you are really set on identifying it, the best bet is probably keeping it alive (good money on the fact that it eats meat) and waiting for it to undergo metamorphosis.

It's not moving anymore - I was a bit rough on capturing it probably.

As for the ceiling, that seemed like the most likely solution - except it doesn't see to have any cracks. So except if they crawled up there, hung around in wait, and dropped on me, I don't see how that could happen. Maybe it's just the blessing of shai-hulud.

Is there anyone here's who's pro-gun and was anti-toomey-amendment? If so, could you explaintomelikeimfive why? All the guns forums I usually visit are overjoyed that it died, and I don't understand why. I'm horribly disappointed that it died, and I'm very pro-gun.

Meh, we won't have that many guns after Obama dismisses Congress, takes over the military without a fight and hands over the US to the UN, who will then run the nation as an atheistic communist-fascist hyper-North Korea. Once that happens, the UN will immediately send in the blue-helmets for their two main duties: murder the non-communists and take away all guns everywhere. Then, Jesus returns and everyone gets a pony.

Yep, I realize this, which is why I asked here instead of anywhere else. My main other forum (usacarry) used to be pretty reasonable, but since Aurora all the nut-jobs have come out of the woodwork. I've already ranted about this in the Pant Thread, but this just confuses me. I mean, it was so good for gun-owners it was almost a pro-gun bill. It rolled back or repealed many laws they consider unconstitutional. It makes them look like a bunch of children who have just decided to blindly reject any legislation with the word "firearm" in it, even if it did something like repeal the NFA. I should just start my own pro-gun lobby group that isn't filled with insane children.

Dammit, now I'm ranting again, and in the wrong thread to boot.

The bill was not as much of a slam-dunk for gun owners as some have made it out to be, but it also wasn't even close to the "Oh me yarm GUN REGISTRATION" that the raving lunatics on my side were claiming.

David Kopel explains why it's poorly written at the Volokh Conspiracy, although the title of his post is a bit over-dramatic, I think.
