No, the cake is a lie, but this is the truth.

I was in Sydney recently and it was just... weird. I don't know what it was but it just didn't seem right.

And everything closed really early. And there were no decent bars or clubs. Or public transport. And there were too many hills, etc.

So, in summation, Melbourne rocks! Thank you, thank you.

Yes, this needs a new post.

I think I'm in love. A reeeeally good-looking boy came into work tonight, smiled at me and bought some stuff and I had to stop myself from swooning. I'll get over it by 5pm Monday.

And I was pricing stuff in the baby section for most of the night, and now I want a baby.

EDIT: Also, how do you like my avatar? It's more accurate to my username, but I liked the lion a lot too. I think I might use a different one, though. Maybe this or this.

I have to wonder why certain information is gathered after you're hired. I can see why it would be important to know certain details about medical history, but it doesn't mean much if I say I'm allergic to grass and consequently get sent to work in the outside garden department for eight hours.

RT: I climbed two mountains yesterday. I had two hours sleep beforehand, ate a tiny breakfast even compared to my usual school-day breakfasts, only ate biscuits and crisps in fits on the bus between mountains and when I got home it looked like I had trenchfoot. I wake up this morning (twelve hours after going to sleep... ah!) and the only thing wrong is that it hurts my calves a bit to walk. What am I, a cyborg? No, scratch that. The guy who leisurely walked up all three mountains and ran his way back down all three of them, then went for a jog around the car park to burn time until the minibus came is a cyborg. Either that or he's been making infernal pacts with demons.

FT: Written notes* should really have timestamps.

* - My mother left a note saying she was out shopping and would be back soon. Considering I got up at midday, I don't know when 'soon' is, seeing as she could've written it five minutes or two hours before I got up.

FT: how does the Confessional Thread have 561 pages?!? I'd've thought this thread would have more, because it's made for random ramblings about random things, and everyone has lots of those.

Because it's not so often a FT sparks a conversation, I guess. Generally the confession thread is a good place for being nosy, giving advice and offering narrowly-disguised grope hugs. This thread has more of a doorstop baby feel to it - drop the thought and run, without remarking much on other thoughts..

You can discuss confessions more than random thoughts, so you know, someone will post a confession of how they don't really like their SO anymore and it'll descend into a discussion about this person's issue, punctuated by ignored minor confessions for a few pages before the discussion peters out and it returns to normality again.

Here people just give one comment on a RT/FT and that's it.

Less fleeting thought, more random trivia: The guy who plays Matt Parkman's father in Heroes did the voice for Glottis in Grim Fandango, I'm going to be thinking about this the next time I watch it and it will ruin my suspension of disbelief.

I'm assuming the tomato sauce contains some amount of vitamin C. My toppings: pepperoni (always), chicken, spicy beef, ham, salami, hot dog, extra cheese and whatever other meats are on offer or in the fridge.

I go with peppers, onions, olives, pineapple, mushrooms, and probably a few others I'm forgetting. Never had all of them on the same slice yet, but those are my toppings of choice.

RT: In school, I am surrounded by groups of people I can observe from a distance. Naturally, being around them all day, I know who I would get along with and who I would not. Real life is not like this. Making friends will be difficult when I leave, although arguably those friends will be better. School offers a limited pool of people. How do most people manage to find at least one friend? Because it makes their lives easier, I bet. They only become friends because they see each other every day. Realistically speaking, what are the odds that you will find a "best friend" or two from the limited community of people in a school setting? Low, yet it happens all the time.

I should think more about this.
