I want to go to the beach tomorrow but it might rain. I have the option of "chancing" it or waiting till Saturday to go to the beach. But Saturday is probably not going to happen because I will stay up too late on Friday.

Sigh, life is SO HARD.

The bolded led me to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yangtze_River which led me to "Four of China's five main freshwater lakes contribute their waters to the Yangtze River" and multiple other tid-bits that lead me to believe the water isn't even brakish except at maybe the mouth.

Poor alligators, never get to know the ocean.

@Panonadin: I think the unsure Fry was because you said "Sigh, life is SO HARD." about deciding when to go to the beach. As in, it's a decidedly #firstworldproblem.

Our labs are three hours long and going and getting something done is almost always better than not going at all, unless you have a really good excuse. I also knew that we weren't doing a full lab this week (although I wasn't entirely sure what we were doing). In terms of attendance, the department tracks that with electronic dibbers. I'm not certain on the specifics of what it records, but if you put your dibber in the box roughly any time during the class it seems to just be recorded as 'yep, you were there at some point, good enough'. Furthermore, we only need ~70% attendance overall, so it doesn't matter hugely if it doesn't actually work that way.

One day I'll figure out why people bother to put "I don't own any of this" in the description of youtube videos. If youtube didn't have better mechanisms already in place couldn't they just remove all videos with descriptions like that?

There are plenty of people who think as long as you give proper credit, you're OK with copyright... that copyright violations only happen when you take something copyrighted and claim it as your own. I was one of them, as a kid.

There's also a matter of a sense of ethics of not taking credit for someone else's work, even if you're aware that it's still not legal as determined by copyright.
