Next year, could we have an urbane/cromulent version? Like, all words turned into the most pompous-sounding synonym irredisregardless of whether those words exist? Shut becomes enclosify. Fix becomes solutionize. Home becomes domiciliary. Ball becomes sphericalicle.

We'll keep that in mind, honestly.

The first few years we pretty much fucked with things at random and had fun with the consequences. The past two years, in addition to general messingwith, I systematically changed the most common English words in some way. (Two years ago, iirc, I regularized pronouns and common verbs, and last year I made things Old/Middle English.) This year Angua has gone ahead and dialect-ized everything, for a dialect that we're leaving to readers to identify.
Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

Do substitutions apply to usernames? If you were to substitute "orangedragonfire", for instance, would that change my username, or just posts mentioning the username?

The Talon that is Second does come out SexyTalon (well, except right now when it's "Set") when you type it, but the author name of his posts is unaltered. So, your second option.

Yeah but they were made up long enough ago that the whole speech community I want to communicate with also understands them.

Which is entirely different from your insistence on using words in this thread which were made up within the past year to be used in only one single context (that of discussing Time or the threads/conversations that sprang up around it).
Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

Horus Azræl was kind enough to visit the Time thread earlier, explaining Madness wasn't bullying.

Locking 1190 and kicking everyone off the playground w/o explanation feels very much like bullyish behavior. :( Even if it wasn't intended as such.

Fight back. Set up a PM tree with your fellow OTTers and move to FaiD. Take over FaiD. They can kick you out of the rest of the forum, but not FaiD.

OTTers really don't want to piss off anyone, which is why we've kept to ourselves thus far.

Time to follow Newpixians' creed and Wait for it, while standing vigil at the smoldering black crater that used to be Cleveland, Ohio.

There have been plenty of times in the past year when the entire forum was down for hours or basically days at a time. Now it's just the one thread, and it's only been an hour.

Be glad your other main forum haunt wasn't for the Skeptics Guide to the Universe, where seemingly everything since August, 2012, has vanished into the aether.
