I was fighting with my PC again this morning when World Community Grid suddenly decided to wake up and claim 100% of the CPU. It seems to be a scenario that has repeated itself often over the years. I have toned down the settings again.
Is anyone here still running this software? It's been around for a long time now, but I haven't heard anything about it one way or another for a number of years. (If you're not familiar, it's basically a distributed computing system that lets you contribute idle time on your PC to computationally-expensive tasks such as protein folding problems.)
Things that don't belong anywhere else. (Check first).
