high: I'm posting this from some guy's computer at MIT. He's in a frat house and I',m staying with him.

low: uhh... Shitty long flight that is super uncomfortable and I had nothing to read. I just listened to my iPod for probably like 8 hours. I had to be on the train fora while too.

high: playing unihock (like hokey indoors) was super fun.

MIT is quite possibly awesome.

Low - One of the caps from my front teeth has decided to fall off this morning. WHOOPEDY FUCKIN' DOO. I'm hoping the other one (which is covering a larger chip knocked out of my tooth) stays on, or I will be Miss. McCrookedsmile forever more.

High - It's the weekend soon!

I had that while going out last week, luckily I found the piece (still the original half of my front tooth, which has fallen out numerous times) and got it stuck back on the next day, Sunday! Emergency dentists are always the really laid back types.

High: I have a free day! And it's beautiful weather! And everything is like "YAY"!

Low: I just found out I've got 3 days to work on 2 seperate projects which I doubt I'll be able to do in time, because it's the weekend. Yea...

Second High: Apparently anchovies are really good in an omlette! (eggs and anchovies were the only two things in my fridge, time to go shop again) Time to make another one! :D :D

Second Low: The person I'm crashing at tonight after going out isn't going out with me... Meaning I probably don't have a place to crash at anymore. :|

low: not being able to do any fucking work until 11:30 because of all the fucking issues I was having with the fucking virtual machines in my office. *angryangry* *grumblegrumble*

High: Six hours of Rock Band with a half dozen other geeks! (Punctuated briefly by pizza)

Low: Getting home after about two hours of walking around this afternoon without sunscreen, then scratching my forehead. Ow. (Seriously, though, today was so fun it hardly requires a low.)

Well, yesterday I went to the shadowmoor prerelease (magic the gathering) and won, 2-0, 2-0, 2-0, 2-1 (4 rounds, best out of 3 each round)

Fairly happy with that.

high: me and the boyfriend went out to a field with a model rocket and set it off. The first time, I set it off and it worked perfectly - nice angle, nice noise, parachute opened, and it drifted back to me. We got a good video and some photos too. The second time we used a more powerful engine - WOAH. No taking pictures of that bad boy! It went over the sea and the boy amused a bunch of teenagers by belting in after it, fully clothed, to rescue it. That was a fun day :)
low: the boyfriend going home.

Low: Getting very little sleep over the past three weeks.
High: Getting into a discussion with someone at orientation today. I wanted to keep in contact, she was slightly wary that I was hitting on her. I ensured her that 1) I wasn't, and 2) I was probably violating the Standard Creepiness Rule. To which she responded, "You're what, 21? Divided by two is 10.5, round up to 11, add seven for 18 and I'm barely in."

Yes.

High: I had real food for lunch today (folks came to visit and we went to a restaurant--nice change from cafeteria food).
Low: I got no work done on a computer project that is now making me feel incredibly guilty and trapped. Also an essay on a book, but that's BS-able.
Insert witty phrase here.

Low: n/a

Sunday:
High: Lied to parents, got to spend 9 extra hours with boy. :D
Low: Lying to parents, the excruciating bus ride home.

Today:
Low: *sigh* back to the daily grind, with added end-of-semester stress.
High: Webcomics.

High: my boss liking the first draft of my first ever paper.

Low: getting up at 6.30 this morning, when I had gone to bed at 4.30, after drinking a month's worth of units of alcohol, for no reason other than I was bored... PAIN.

Yesterday's high: Going to a fun party at a friend's house, meeting interesting people and having some great conversations, getting a cool momento (at the party) from a girl from uni who went to Japan (a hideous golden lucky cat whose hand waves).
Yesterday's low: Not much... Biting my fingernails too much?

Low: My friend's lame-ass boyfriend (ah! lame ass-boyfriend! mental scarring!) breaking up with her and spending the whole day trying to make her feel less worthless. So not her fault, but I felt sad all the same because she's so sad.

High: Getting 4th in a town-wide spelling bee (in a town full of nerds, some of whom had actually studied the word lists)
A good pun is its own reword.

Yesterday's high: Presenting all my research and conclusions, and getting praise, agreement and constructive suggestions.
Yesterday's low: Getting no reply from either of the two people who had previously potentially agreed to do something that evening.
Yesterday's second high: Putting that evening to good use by making fajitas for lunch this week!

That sounds horrible.

Low: basically all of today. Small stresses have just been accumulating over the past few weeks, and that coupled with exhaustion has made me a bitter, tired, cynical wreck.

High: sticking it to my boss. See, I work in a department store, and I booked this Saturday off because I'm seeing a play in Stratford that evening. And, for the 4th time, (I've only booked time off 6 or 7 times) she neglected to look at the time off sheet, and scheduled me in for that day. Of course, after bringing this to her attention, it is MY responsibility once again to call all my coworkers desperately trying to get rid of this godawful shift. No success. So I got to call my manager up and tell her that I can't work the shift, and politely told her that "frankly, I value that play more than I value my job right now". It felt great :D

I've got nothing to lose now (at least as far as employment goes), seeing as I despise the job and the manager. I'd be happiest if she just called back and told me I'm fired, but I know that's not going to happen. (though we have two new hirees in my department, so I've got my fingers crossed)

And yet, I have no desire to quit. I can't quite justify that. (I guess 'cause I also want money)

Low: Seeing the ugly bruise forming on my wife's pregnant belly after some jackass decided it would be a good idea to ram his car into the rear of ours while I was stopped at a red-light.

Glad to hear it. Car accidents are ugly business. Still, getting rear-ended isn't the worse that can happen, thankfully. (The last car accident I was in, the car got flipped upside down and shot through a fence. That's still not the worst, but very scary). Good luck with the birth.

Today's High(s):
School is done
Got Facebook set up, finally.
The cave is actually getting pretty big

Today's Low(s):
School is done
Have 0.0 friends on Facebook
Climbing into and out of the cave carrying buckets of sand is scraping the skin off my arms
The cave is large enough that it needs to be reinforced before it kill me (ugh - wood working)

Further High:
Met an interesting girl on Facebook. And she doesn't live on the other side of the country/planet/galactic arm :)
I can kill you with my brain.

High - First hour of school (good class composition, easy material, ADHD medicine kicks in)

Low - Coming home from school (boredom, solitude, homework, SSDD mentality, ADHD medicine wears off, tired, sore)

I have been in that situation... When I was at McDonald's, I didn't like my job, and when I scheduled a weekend off to go away, and they didn't give it to me, I didn't even bother reminding them until they called to ask me where I was, knowing they'd make me change it myself, without caring whether I got fired. (I knew they couldn't though, as they had a total of one other employee who was competent, so one of us did lunch and the other did nights on weekends)

I didn't have a desire to quit at the time though.

Anyway: the high of my day was that tonight was possibly the greatest night of my life, with Porcupine Tree finally coming to Sydney for the first time in 15+ years.

The low is that the concert is now over, and I have no idea when I'll get to see them again.

My aunt was in a car crash while pregnant that literally ripped the car in half. The other car hit hers side on, as I understand, about 20cm behind where she was sitting.

Glad to hear you're okay too.

Anyway: High, new shoes, new jeans, getting my grandmas new computer set up.
Low: I have to do this assignment now :(

Where is that place? I don't care where it is, I'm going there someday. Need to take a sled or a bike or something.

I know! Oh me yarm it is awesome!

high: doing well in swim race (prelims), and then not failing at male-female interaction.

low: sucking in swim race (finals).

But my coach just laughed at me (instead of yelling), so I'm happy. hahaha.

....wait, shouldn't I feel insulted that my coach laughed at me?

oh another high!

high: breakfast was awesome, pancakes and french toast and eggs and BACON! Then I ate nothing for the next 5 hours. This is actually why I did bad in finals, so one high led to another low. oh well.. :+

Re: High and low point of your day

Low: Realizing that my new manager at work seems physically incapable of saying a single positive thing about or to our team, thus rendering my motivation to succeed at a little less than zero.

High: Going to Target with my fiance and picking up the newest season of American Dad on DVD, plus the ingredients needed to make rice pudding.
