We could go to our new house, which is currently being demolished, I guess. Or this one just before I move out.

I don't understand why this thread should be expanded rather than making a new one that, you know, actually says what it does in the topic?

I don't even know anywhere that sells postcards. I'm sure the shop around the corner sells them, but they could be normal cards. If anyone wants a postcard from Preston, I'll do my best to find such an item.
If you feel the need to send me one, just PM for an address.

I've gotten handmade postcards through xkcd before, just take a picture, paste it on the back of some cardboard/print on incredibly stiff paper, and write what you want on the other side. Make sure it's the proper size and weight, or your mail service might not mail it at the proper rates.

Edit: I'll ship anywhere in the world that receives mail, but it might take longer to search for stamps, move mail, etc.

I'll be in Wales next weekend, which will sell touristy postcards with pics of the beach etc on, if anyone is interested, give us a pm :) I'm more than willing to post internationally, as long as I get one in return :P

**Maybe only posted about wanting knitting from meowgan, but now e's on the list. Tough luck.

I realized after making the first half of the list that the first necro was a year ago, and it has died and been necro'd again since. I left it in anyway. If you're on the old list and still want to be in or if you want me to edit your location or selling point, post and say so.

FYI, I'm located in California, if that makes things easier. I don't know how much sending international postcards costs, but if it's under/around US$1, I'd still send. I'll likely be making my own postcard to send. Not sure what I'd write on it, but there'd definitely be some original art on it.

Hmmm, I think I'll get this thing rolling by getting some postcards tomorrow.

Oo, I like my selling point! I'll be working on postcards to IRL friends this week, so if anybody wants a homegrown postcard from Iowa, pm me*. I'll try to have them all sent by Friday. As of right now, I'm willing to send to an international location. That might change if the post office keeps conspiring against me.

*If there's anything specific you want to know about me or Iowa, ask in your pm.

I will send a postcard to any one who cares to send me their address.
:) It will be from the UK. I might even make the postcard myself.
Or I'll send a letter instead, if you like.
Any takers?

I have three postcards. First three to post their desire to receive them will get them. Be sure to include anything you want me to write on them. Then PM me your address so I can actually send it to you.

Note: Sending from Melbourne, Australia.

EDIT: You can't both claim a postcard and a parcel from The Great xkcd Present Exchange.

I think I'm a little too excited about this... Oh, well. I have a question and a request.
Question: Some of my non-forumite friends want in on this. Should I act as a proxy for them, or tell them to register? Either's okay, I just don't want to confuse people.
Request: I can send homemade or bought postcards. Please specify which you want in your PM.

I think I'll probably end up buying standard ones with landscapes on and sticking stuff to them.
Mainly because it means I don't have to be able to cut in a straight line, and the background's already taken care of.
:)
Ah well, we'll see.
