I'm very good at not being annoying...

I'm also very good at rock climbing although it gets very boring after 10 - 15 feet...

I'm very good at fixing all manner of things. A handywoman as it were.
Also giving moderately good advice, and dream interpretation.

I'm very good at playing flute, and pretty much any other instrument I've ever had to play. (You see, my band director (when I was in band) used to change me up all the time because I was very versatile, so I've played like five or six different instruments. It usually only took me about two weeks of hard practice to be able to play well enough to sound good with the rest of the band.)

Also cutting hair and fishing.

I'm very good at hula-hooping. I can go for about sixteen minutes before I get tired.

Also, Scrabble. IRL Scrabble, where you get a couple of minutes to pee or get a snack and you don't have to ask permission.
*is loathing Scrabulous right now*

Swimming. I was given lessons right around when I started to walk, and my family kept me swimming often after that and taking water rescue and water survival and stroke coaching classes on a regular basis, so I swim pretty damn well at this point. But you'd never know it because I don't often go outside...

I'm amazing with Tarot cards. I can convince most people that I am totally telling the future. In truth, I just rock at lying. :)

I'm really good at taking things people said out of context when it's funny and creating a whole new scenario in my head around it. This causes me no end of private giggles.

Doing the robot. No one expects the spontaneous robot.

Trampolining. Well, I was several years ago, when I used to do it. Although I'm alot fitter now and back then I could manage all moves upto flips quite well (Last thing I learning was flips+half twists), so I'd probably do pretty well now.

I'm good at problem solving, in regards to real-life problems. I seem to make sense of the most chaotic situations, it puts people at ease.

I prefer to keep my secret talents secret.

But in the spirit of this thread, I'm good at almost anything considered artistic. I don't think it has a lot to do with being artistic though. I think I just pay very sensitive, anal-retentive attention to detail and try to do things with as much quality as I can muster.

So I end up being surprisingly good at singing, playing musical instruments (similar to Rachel, and also my main instrument was flute : ) ), drawing (particularly faces), painting, and a variety of other things that always surprise people because it's not like I go around playing my flute in people's faces on a day to day basis.

The only thing I think I'm truly bad at it ad-libbing, because I'm horrified at trying something for the first time publicly that I haven't perfected yet. No jazz for me.

I kinda like having them remain secret so if you don't mind, please forget everything you just read so I feel like I still have a trump card.

I'm a damn fine cook and I can bake.
I have some chocolate chip cookies at home I made last night that'll make you have to sit down...now i'm wondering why i left them at home and didn't bring them with me to work...

My REAL super hero talent will have to remain a secret to protect my secret identity.

I'm good at cooking, I'm a great listener (so they say) and my mind races associatively in many directions during conversation, to the point where people sometimes aren't able to follow what I'm saying (because I consider it obvious). That last one isn't always a good thing.

well, most people know I'm good at maths, science and coding. Also, people soon find out that I imagine many very pointless things that I think are awesome or cool.

But, what you wouldnt know is that ...

I have no idea actually. This is a tricky one...

still thinking...

Well, I'm good at being confident... but that just leads to me revealing what I'm good at to people. Maybe I just cant remember what would apply here.

but what am I bad at...? hmmm... finishing projects. so, that makes me good at leaving projects unfinished. but that's fairly obvious to most people who know me.

Ah! I am apparently relatively good at acting and posing for photos, due to a number of times I got my own article in the newspaper. And acting is due to roboguy, I was for some reason complimented as a number of people's favourite character. Apparently I'm good at acting a mad scientist when *I* dont even know what my motives are.

If anyone wants to help confirm or deny whether I'm good at acting, go here

I'm only in episode 3 onwards, theres 6 episodes about 6 minutes each so it cant take too long to watch. I would like to hear more people's opinions, anyway... I like people paying attention to stuff I make, although not so much paying attention to me.

I also note that almost every post I make is about me, even when almost entirely inappropriate... I'm good at talking about myself I guess.

Insulting someone with a compliment. I have this wonderful ability to say things in the complete wrong way, so that rather than being reassuring or a compliment, it instead is a dagger that stabs them in the kidneys and makes them feel like shit. And I rarely ever realize what I've done.

I start to freak out a little when my wife asks me how she looks in something.

Uggggh SecondTalon, I could be married to you.

I just had my acting debut for the local amdram group, sharing the stage with literally THE most seasoned actors in the society, including 3 retired professionals. My husband's reaction (in the context of whom I was sharing the stage with, in his defence): "You weren't great, but you didn't embarrass yourself".

Upon some great advice, this was also coincidentally my reaction last time we had sex  (although very obviously in jest).

We hear the official critique tonight; I can tell you tomorrow if I'm any good at acting.

I create recipes. I came up with an interesting take on lasagna thursday night.

Also, camping, hiking, pioneering (I've even made my own rope, before), and I build random "things," (a catapult, a trebuchet, and a cannon).

I'm really good at creative problem solving/ "outside of the box" thinking (/me gags on that phrase) Neat, easy solutions that no one else seems to come up with are blatantly obvious to me in many cases. (I hide this by being very quiet and reserved around people I don't know very well so they don't suspect a thing.)

Cutting down trees. During highschool some friends and I decided to build a paintball course in some woods one of them owned. During the build we found some trees that needed to be removed (they were mostly dead anyway). I grabbed my axe and went to town. My friends laughed at me and went to find themselves a chainsaw and some gasoline (due to how far into the woods we were, the walk out was about 30-40 minutes). So about 2 hours later they showed back up to my field of victory. I fell four moderately sized trees (~2' in diameter x 40-50' tall) and chopped them all into 10' lengths for use in a log bridge. They didn't laugh at that.

I'm a goddamned lumberjack.

(I have other talents, but none so odd as my skill with an axe)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I'm insanely good at cooking with a dutch oven. I can cook pretty much anything I can fit into one of those in pretty much any condition. Had a few of them going at one point in the middle of a hurricane. Didn't quite come out perfect, but it was still good.

I'm 'good' at that, too. So good actually, that I was diagnosed with 'relevant aspects of a schizotypical personality disorder'. It's what all the cool kids have.
I am quite good at doing classical Ballet, too, since I've been dancing for 11 years now.
I am flexible and strong. I can do the splits in all possible directions and lift and hold a leg on 90° to the front, around 110° to the side and around 140° to the back, on both sides (this sounds easy, but actually it's tough).
Another talent of me seems to be having fertile discussions about relationship issues with my SO and moderating differences while being a part of them (if anyone understands what I want to say with that?).

You wouldn't know it from looking at me (because I look like I'm always daydreaming), but I'm very good at reading people's body language and when people are lying. Chances are, within five minutes of talking to you, I'll know exactly what you want, just from how you're acting.

I can also open anything. Jars, paint cans, locked doors.

Oh, and puns. I can come up with some really terrible puns.

Hula hooping again, I think I've done half an hour before (although no timer, so could've just been a long fifteen minutes). Also, I'm a great sprinter, could probably beat 10s for 100m on a good day (but again, never timed myself, so no guarantees). This seems unlikely to most people because I've got skinny arms, and a generally wiry build apart from my legs, strengthened by ten years of Irish Dancing (which I've given up now). I'm useless at long-distance running, however, as I'm anaemic and get tired fast.

I'm surprisingly good at persevering at things for extended periods of time, if I can convince myself to attempt them in the first place.

An example: when the time came for my Bar Mitzvah, I decided that I wanted to read the entire portion of the Torah for that week (about 200 verses, taking about an hour to read), instead of the customary three verses for a boy celebrating his Bar Mitzvah. Since I am not a native speaker of Hebrew and the Torah is written without vowels or notes, it was necessary for me to memorize both of these. This was made more difficult by the fact that in Hebrew, related words generally share the same root set of consonants so that the correct vowels are often determined entirely by context. Added to this were the fact that the tunes of the Torah are for the most part highly repetitious, but not exactly repeating, and the fact that my week's Torah portion also contained the Ten Commandments, which have their own unique tune. However, I persevered and by the time of my Bar Mitzvah could essentially recite the entire portion from memory, despite never having attempted a feat of similar magnitude before.

Another example: a couple of years ago, I read a book by Ian Stewart and suddenly realized that I could actually write my own fractal generator if I put my mind to it. I did put my mind to it and taught myself first a general methodology for algorithm-writing, then BASIC, expanding my program from producing a black-and-white fixed image of the Mandelbrot set to adding zoom, varying hue with iterations, rotated views, and user-definable polynomials of the form z^n+c. At this point I considered my work complete and took a long break. Then, one day, I realized that the program could be improved by rewriting it in C, adding the possibility of an unlimited number of terms in the user-defined polynomial, complex coefficients and exponents, saturation and brightness, and so on. So I taught myself C, did all of the above and took another long break. Next time I feel able to put my mind to it, I might put it into assembly language, or add in quaternions, a 3d view or something else. However, willing myself to that level of focus - especially when I have other, important things which need to be done - can be very, very difficult.

3x3x3 (avg of 10): 18.89
3x3x3 (one handed): 45.54
4x4x4: 3:37.23
4x4x4 (avg of 10): 3:54.21

Nothing!

But I do have a unique "talent" in that I am fairly competent in a large number of disciplines, and can hold an engaging conversation with an expert in, really, any field about their subject for at least 10 minutes despite having no actual experience in the field (but having absorbed a lot of relevant information over the years. I love information.). It's not all academic either, I know a fair amount about and can even hold my own in things like sports, knitting, driving (the fast, technical kind), painting (not the art kind), navigating, art appreciation, drawing, and who knows what else. Ironically I'm terrible at small talk and so tend to come across as boring :|.

I also have a ridiculously overactive imagination that I can use to amuse myself any place, any time, and a strong sense of empathy. It's sad how many times I tear up over the average dramatic movie/tv show. Get it? sad!
