Yesterday for lunch I went to a really nice Asian restaurant and had some excellent tofu dishes. Must return.

In a couple of hours I'll be the proud owner of almost an entire kilo of cheese for fondue night tomorrow, amongst other things.

I'm not sure what you're aiming for but I also got cornflour, two baguettes, some broccoli and cauliflower as well as sorbet for dessert (mango and passion fruit).

Cheese is expensive... I bought almost 900 gr. of high quality cheese and it cost me around 75 USD.

I imagine Kabann read "among other things" as referring to what you were going to use the cheese for, as opposed to what you had bought.

Yes, you can chalk that up to misunderstanding! I envisioned some kind of nefarious cheese-related atrocity being committed. Imagine the headlines.

And may I add, ouch, that is extremely expensive. Is cheese in general that expensive in Israel, because of lack of availability?

Picked up a 15W Line 6 Spider III guitar amp this afternoon. Much blaringness.

My 80W Ashton amp was too loud to play at a decent level. IE: It annoyed the block, not just the neighbours.
Why is it that 4chan is either infinitely awesome, infinitely bad, or "lolwut", but never any intermediary level?

Hmm, now that you mention it, it can be read like that. :-)

I don't think cheese is particularly expensive. Note that it was high quality cheese and a lot of it. There's actually a lot of variety in Israel. It wasn't more expensive than I was expecting it to. For example, regular cheese I'd use for a sandwich costs around 2$ for 100 gr., but that's cheaper cheese which isn't as good for a fondue.

Lots of tins of beans, and a large amount of onions and potatoes, not to mention 6 litres of squash.

That was not fun to carry home again.

After a day semi-filled with shopping, the absolute last things I bought today were hazelnut gelato, chocolate/hazelnut gelato and a green pepper.

Sadly, thus far I have consumed half the green pepper and no gelato.

Another good website that's similar is Steepandcheap.com. Woot.com is kind of similar but instead of one item at a time until it's gone they do one item a day.
