I live my life in fear of my clothes catching on something and ripping. What they'll find will be very awkward to explain. Actually, it doesn't bother me that much... because it doesn't matter, there's nothing they can do to me!

But on another note.

I'm listening to Slipknot. And I LIKE it.

That should be far more embarrassing to explain.

They have enjoyable acoustic qualities and simply ignoring the vocals, the acousitc effects of the music can have an enjoyable effect on the individuals psyche?

Oh I was just teasing ID...I refuse to be embarrassed by any music and taste is too subjective a notion to ever tell another what is good or bad, there is no absolutes when it comes to personal preference.

Because Korn and System of a Down are quite excellent musical artists and a fantastic representation of their respective genre's?

@Cara:

Then I'll explain it to you. Music has a considerable effect on my mental state, as Verator hinted at. Each band and each genre has their own different effect and I can identify them as much by what they're doing to me as their music. Slipknot kicks me to the threshold of the trance on their heavy songs, and the lighter ones give me a chance to cool off, but have me held. It's really quite dastardly, not quite able to cross that threshold.

I quite honestly love every music. Unfortunately, rap does not count as music most of the time because only a very tiny number of the songs produce an effect.

Its 80 degrees Fahrenheit and I am drinking hot chocolate.

It sounds cooler if it say its 298.8 degrees Kelvin.

It just came out of the microwave when I started this and its already all gone.

ID, I understand completely, anything I love I do so because of the effect it has on me, rather than in an objective sense...I can't appreciate something in a vacuum the way many others can seem to do, maybe it's because I know so little about the mechanics of music or maybe I'm just overly emotive a person, but my favourite songs are those that make me cry.

I personally could care less what band/group does to represent its genre, since that in itself I find silly to sit around and classify music. I care only for the sound and whether I like it or not. That is all that is important to me. For a fun video on classification of music, please see the following HERE.

Yes, like sex and riding horses and seeing bands. However, there's an astounding shortage of fuckable guys in this town, I'm nearly broke, and none of the bands I want to see come through.
Yes, like sex and riding horses and seeing bands.
You could add theft, a really exciting pastime, so that it's now
Steal a horse
Ride it to somewhere where bands are playing
See the band(s)
... I'll go no farther, because a huge number of disturbing thoughts have entered my mind.

Aaahaha, that was awesome. I'm far from being a music snob, though, and I avoid them as best I can. I did end up rolling in a house full of them in February, however.

But then how will you know that I'm better then you? I mean, come on, the only thing I have going for me are these aviators and the fact that everything I like is super cool and everything you like is Nickleback. Oh, and in complete seriousness, Nickleback is bad. Period. I won't budge. This is the only band that I will not allow subjective taste for. They are bad bad bad bad bad.

This is how you remind me of what I really am.

I like Nickelback. They're nowhere near my favourite, or most-played or 'best band ever'. They're nothing special, but I've got all their albums, and definitely enjoy their music.

They can't beat the half-crippled Auburn Tigers, so I'm sure the top-ranked Tigers will be no challenge. I predict a two touchdown victory.

Airtank, nothing wrong with some IRC over local entertainment. There must be something in the water... Pensacola is culturally dead, which is astounding given the amount of history here. I'm certain it's the water that makes Santa Rosa county so backward and generally stupid, I've been convinced of that for years.

That same something in the water must make girls spread their legs like there's no tomorrow, too, 'cause I know like six girls with newborns, and three more who are still preggo.

My roommate and I actually manage to find a good bit of fun driving around in the boonies, looking for dirt roads to play on (I have a 4x4!). So far, we've found Camp Henderson up by Berryville and Truck Route 17, which is in Alabama, just off the Wilcox Road exit.

Erm, except now it's on topic... The rest is just straggling random characters not meant to derail the thread into local gossip.

Confession: (oops, another one) I tear up around the Wilcox road area on my motorcycle fairly frequently, but more up near AL112 to Bay Minette. There are trails labeled "Jeep trails" off of the road going to the power station west of UWF, but I've never seen them and I'm not sure if they're motor vehicle-accessible. I ride my mtn bike around there all the time and UWF has no problem with that, but I know they chase dirt bikes off the land on the east side of the road. Anyway, I'm off Scenic near Hyde Park.

College football's where it's at!
Confession: (What? Another one?) I've watched maybe 4 NFL games in as many years, but I'll kill all of a Saturday absorbed in college ball. Weekends like last when half the top 10 got beaten, most by unranked teams, there's nothing like that in any pro sport. Plus I like to root for teams that are students athletes, not semi-pro jocktards walking towards fame and wealth. Teams like Purdue, Wake Forrest, and Georgia Tech where they don't hand out degrees in modern sports history or some shite.
