Confession:

About a month ago I was playing Persona 3 and I neglect to save a lot while I play because, hey, I'm not planning on dying. Anyway I get really far, this was on a sick day and I'd probably played for 3 hours since the last save... I'm SO close to the end of the game so I'm taking it very risky and not levelling up very quickly so that I could get to the end faster. Big mistake. Lost all that gameplay... dead... game over ; (

Luckily I didn't let it get me too down, I'm still willing to do it again and finish. I think I'll try tonight. Just so I can relax and prepare myself for the Sleep deprived weekend from work-hell.

Internetting at work can be tricky. I used to set up a VNC server on my home PC, and use a non-browser-based viewer to browse on my home pc. It can be slow as hell, but hea.. Internets!

I had a friend who didn't wash for 8 months, we didn't even notice that he hadn't.

He always seemed to have greasy hair, but it was thought to be preference rather than consequential.

I guess some people just don't produce great quantities of sweat/BO and can manage on few showers.

Still just a little gross though.......

It does sound like a sign of depression. Depression is usually tied with self loathing, and the feeling that you deserve nothing else. But you do! You do deserve a bath! Take a long shower, cut your nails, cut off most of your hair with a trimmer (unless you can pay for a proper haircut). Shave, even if it's only a few stray hairs. Put on a decent shirt and clean clothes in general. Then just go for a walk, or just down to buy a coffée, talk to someone random.
All this makes you feel better, and are little tricks i've used to combat my depression.
Also, as for ppl i know IRL comming to these boards?
That concept scares me, i don't want to worry my near and dear like i have you ;)

I tend to obsess over my state of hygiene when I'm feeling desperately down. The flat is never cleaner and I shower every 6/8 hours. sigh.

But, yeah, that kind of indifference is most certainly an indication of something not being quite right, I'm going to agree with Everything Thor said.

And ID, darling, it all depends on the situation, you know that. It's generally a sad state of affairs if it brings such joy, but only you can know what's excessive in the circumstance.

Oh, also, meant to mention at the time, but I forgot, GREG, YOU SAID "DIEING", WHY?!?!?

@ThorFluff: Yes, adopted is one way of looking at it. It's more like jumping homes in foster care.

And, like this:

@rachel:

Okay, first off, I'm sixteen, and so is my SO. You would think this means no transfers of legal guardianship to Her, but, and here's where it gets interesting:

Her parents were rarely home, and so had her emancipated at a young age, She is for all intents and purposes an adult (except for age limits). So, one thing She can do is take in children. I am considered a special needs child, so making certain that I am in the care of the person that makes my medical decisions and such is important, so they were willing to transfer guardianship to Her. So, I'll be Her adopted child until such time as I can be emancipated (as a special needs child, the lease does not automatically break like it does with others) and then married.

Did I forget anything?

No, you hadn't, but you've built up your story over the last however long, and people tend to fill in gaps where details are not given. You had mentioned your SO becoming your guardian, and many people would automatically think guardian = older. Also, the poem she wrote for you that you posted, was quite beautiful and very mature. I was a silly little glink at 16 and totally incapable of writing something like that.

So your two 16year old , no offense intended, but kids, living on your own? I know your clever enough to cope, and apperently your SO is mature enough to be emancipated...
But how do you make ends meet? This greatly intrigues me. And even more intriguing, how the bleeding hell did you manage social services to allow it? :P I'm equally confused and impressed.

My best backcombing was also for Halloween. It involved copious amounts of blue food colouring and strategic placement of plastic spiders. It was awesome, and on that evening, I managed to snog the guy I'd been lusting after for quite some time. Unfortunately, this was all in the pre-pics era so there is no documentation of my Halloween win.

No idea, mch to the annoyance of my female friends my hair is naturally soft and straight, aha as I don't have to waste time straightening it.

@gmalivuk: Two months. And I meant the whole thing.

@libellule: Fair enough. But, poem?

Could I have a link to this poem?

@ThorFluff: In all honesty, we cheat a bit. We could manage on our own, certainly, but it's not as though money is an object for us at all. You know why Her parents were never there for Her? Both are fantastically good businesspeople. The father is living comfortably on a respirator as he is dying of lung cancer from smoking cuban cigars. The mother lives in London raking in the euros. The house does not actually belong to us, but the deed will be handed over on my SO's eighteenth birthday.

As for making social services allow it, allow me to reiterate:
She has the legal status of an adult, and thus can adopt children.
I am a 'special needs child' which means that the person I am in the care of (my SO) must also be the person making my medical(and legal/financial) decisions, which would be my 'parents'.

So, their hands were tied, it was either hand me over or suffer the guilt of me dying because my SO couldn't supervise my treatment, and also they had no actual legal grounds not to.

I'm kind of sick of being called a special needs child just because I have a debilitating speech impediment (okay, and multiple mental disorders as well as the possibility of death if I break a bone. But it's the principle of the thing damnit.). But it has its perks.

If you have that big of a problem with SO, I'll just drop the pretense and use Mistress. Yes, girlfriend, but far more.

And you're right... breaking free generally grants you a one-way ticket to prostitution.

The fact that you do indeed have ,your own obstacles, if you will, makes the entire story all the more impressive.

Of course, breaking free here in sweden usually leads to "The Dole", depression and suicides. We do have one of the worlds highest suiciderates for a reason, but no matter, the consequenses are as dire.

I hope your Mistress really, really loves you, for her sake aswell as yours. Having the hero complex i have, i've put myself in a situation were i had to learn that Pity is no replacement for hope and Dependancy no replacement for love.
My ex-gf has a horrible family, the kind that you run away from. She Did, With me. Lets leave it at that for now.
Were I a religious man I'd pray for you, but that'd be hypocritical, at best.
I'll just wish you good luck and say that i Truly hope everything turns out for the best.

I am curious about this one.

Confession: I am horribly confused right now about nothing in particular.

Edit: @Akira: Will you really? Or is that just something you are saying. When does anybody really pray for a stranger other than a possible half-hearted "Please God, help [name], Amen."?
pollywog is awesome, that is all.
Addendum: Sethicus is also cool to the maximum.

Akira: i prefer monster black-man cocks.
Hoags: It's getting all 2vreks1CAN in here

Confession: After admitting to not having any monkey island games on me, I took stock of what I did have:

-The Sims (Original, one disk, vaguely lame. Never got the hang of that game...)
-Diablo (the first. I'm not very good at it...)
-Starship Titanic (Would install, but I can't remember what driver I needed to find to make it play right on XP..)

Yes, I will really. And they do pray for "strangers" when they care what happens to them. Yes, you can care about someone on the internet.

@ThorFluff:

We've been inseparable since the age of five. Never once has there been a problem, nor a change in our methods of handling each other. We're as about as devoted to each other as you can get. The Mistress is not a distant mighty force. She is as much tied to me as I to Her, the difference is how the tie is handled.

@Akira:

I will allow you that, though I am reminded of the dying words of an atheist.

Someone dying (to a nearby praying nurse): "Don't you dare ask god to help me."

Still, thank you very much for your consideration.

@KicktheCAN:

I vastly overproduce most variable chemicals in the body, such as hormones and endorphins. Breaking a bone would release so much adrenaline into my bloodstream that I would suffer irreparable myocardial infarction. Or, in laymen's terms, my heart would explode. I have medicine to prevent that from happening, and there's no way I'd be able to take it on my own, delirium sets in in a matter of seconds.

If you rather me not, I won't. I just hope that things turn out for the best.

Confession: I am reminded of the difficulty of comforting those of dissimilar faiths. Among Christians, "Pray for me/I will" is usually all that's needed, and I confess to not really knowing how to deal with other faiths/lacks thereof.

Confession: I am now thoroughly convinced that all of the friends I have that are female are the spawn of Satan and I would hate them, but I'd only be hating them because I love them. Bring back prearranged marriages and save my sanity to be honest.
