So cool!

My sig of you came from the sig discussion thread. I was going to change it anyway, and that seemed funny at the time. Now I'm curious who else sigged you, as my sig is fickle and doesn't like being the same thing for very long.

Tonight (well, last night, technically) I gathered up the courage to say, "Konban wa, [surname] sensei." to my maths instructor (who is from Japan). He had mentioned a couple of weeks ago that 5/5 is Children's Day, a national holiday in Japan. I meant to figure out how to say "Happy Children's Day!" in Japanese, but I didn't get around to it. So "konban wa" had to suffice. He gave me a somewhat puzzled look when I said it, but replied with a "konban wa" of his own. I've heard people comment on my having a good accent when I speak in foreign languages, and I'm curious to find out what he thinks of my Japanese accent. It's taken me until the sixth week of the course to try because I'm a bit shy in person. Je ne sais pas.

Edit: I think I inadvertently reduced a few people's post count by necroing a thread that then promptly got sent to forum games. I am not ashamed, either.

Confession: I really feel guilty when I go to Rotterdam where my sister lives now, and play PS3 all day. It's not that I don't like playing on the PS3, oh noes (I'm getting one myself because it's so freeeaaaking awesome  ), it's because sometimes I get aware that I'm going there to see her, but end up on the couch with a controller in my hand, and the only conversation we have is like "You want one or two burgers?" (ok not literally, but basically that's the level of our conversation). And I feel so damn guilty about it, that I want to go there immediately after I get back, only that's way too expensive for me, and she would think it's only because of the PS3, which is not, and that would make me feel even more guilty.
Word used most in this post: guilty.

No seriously: Sis, if you're still fora-stalking me: I'm sorry when I'm over I don't do fun stuff with you, and play stupid video games instead.

[/emu] (No really, it's not emo, but it's not an "Ooh-I'm-Happy"-post either.)

P.S. Congratiolations ThorFluffs, on the best day you've ever had so far! :D You know it makes me happy when people are happy...

Confession: My girlfriend has been kinda depressed lately since she has no friends. Thus I have not been online all that much when not working. Actually I've been working at work too, so I've been online even less as a result (go me!). Anyway I kinda feel bad for her, but I don't know what to do - she's doesn't know how to make new friends and is not interested in going to social places to meet people that she would be interested in talking to.

Other than that, its also been nice outside. I had a most wonderful walk yesterday. Been feeling like I have started gaining weight, so I am considering working at being more active too....

Confession: I'm addicted to staying up late. Or something. All I know is I need to get ready for bed at ~midnight (half-hour long process), then do my homework (given my suboptimal work, this can take over an hour for trivial assignments). I am incapable of doing otherwise. This is going to be a problem next year with my AP classes.

I am a psychological mess.

I feel the same way!

Confession: I went to a friend's party to drop of a family member. I didn't plan on staying, just wanted to say hi to all my friends until they dragged me into the kitchen and showed me the Tiffany's box looking Jean-Philippe cake they had. So I ended up staying until fifteen minutes ago, eating Filipino food, great cake and drinking too much beer.

See it? There's my weeks worth of hard work down the drain. *Slaps self* I'll just work extra hard tomorrow.

It's and alien with a crab-shaped head and four crab-arms and one pair of regular arms. He can morph into a tsunami and his the only words he can say are "I'm Yeris." which is why everybody will recognise a Yeris as soon as they see them.

Confession: I go to a pediatric dentist, because, well, because all my little siblings go there, and because it's the only dentist I'm comfortable with (I had a really bad one when I was little; am now scarred on some level). I'm probably gonna have to find a sedation dentist when I move out, and that freaks me the fuck out because it's a little too close to my fetish for comfort...and instead of turning me on, it makes me act scared and bitchy. You'd think I'd enjoy being helpless in a dentist chair, but I hate it. Probably because there's no orgasms involved, like there would be in...well, roleplay or a horrendous story. Y'know?

Confession: I had a cap fall off one of my teeth about a month ago. I still haven't made a dentist appointment because I'm not in a job where I can afford it right now. I just try to avoid that tooth when I'm drinking cold beverages or eating food that isn't at room temperature.

If you sell them, you'll , for a short while, miss them.
If you Don't you'll regret NOT selling them while the models were still worth anything.

I just finished reading an entire forum on these here fora. It's nice to be able to see a white sheet of paper icon next to a forum. It sucks that I'm up 'till after 4:30 because I was (more or less) just wasting time. And it's sad that it took me half an hour writing this post.

Neris wrote:I want nothing more than a double double protein animal style burger from In N Out but... I can't. I want to cry :(
There's an IN-N-OUT within (long) walking distance of my home, but I don't go there much. It's not that I don't like the food, but making my own food is more affordable than buying fast food (and I am a poor college student, after all).

Also, only 14 new posts to this thread in over a day and a half? wtf? *makes some emuburgers* Somehow I don't think that accomplished anything... other than getting ground bird-meat inside a bun. Oh, wait a minute - that's nothing. There were longer periods of absolutely no posts in parts of this thread that I've already read. Granted, I wasn't even a member on these here fora then, but...

I'm a little depressed that more people from the US don't know that the bonnet of a car is the hood (or what the boot is, for that matter). I'm sure there are still plenty of Britishisms that I don't yet know, but the joke of the blonde in a VW Bug that claims to have a spare engine sounds better (imo) if it's in the boot than in the trunk. Hmm. That reminds me of something I need to put in the portmanteaux thread.

Box them for six months. Shove them someplace way out of the way so you don't even have to look at the box anymore.

Six months to the day... if you remember they're there, keep'em. If you recall they're there around the six month block more or less and still have fond memories of the nice looking ones, sell them but hang on to those.

A year and a half from now, if you come across the box and have to open it to remember what's in it, sell the lot.

I have a friend who is still obsessed with the game. He has all three of those useless egyptian-monster cards.

Remember, they aren't as valuable if you get them from the starter packs.

All I know is I need to get ready for bed at ~midnight (half-hour long process), then do my homework (given my suboptimal work, this can take over an hour for trivial assignments). I am incapable of doing otherwise. This is going to be a problem next year with my AP classes.

This sounds a lot like me. Except, of course, I'm already in AP classes. Woo!
Aleril wrote:This is the same thing I am doing to my large amount of pokemon and yu-gi-oh cards from back in the day, except that six months have turned into a couple of years.

My mother sold all of my pokemon cards (for next to nothing) without my consent. Fortunately, this was years after the fad had died, so I wasn't too distraught by the notion. A neighbor kid of mine thought it would be cool to start collecting them again, so he started buying everyone else's. What you need to do is wait until the nostalgia kicks in and then sell them to a collector.

Confession: Because I just don't give a shit anymore, I'm gonna be watching movies instead of doing my homework. I only see maybe three new movies per year, so I'm going to take this opportunity to catch up on everything I've missed for the past half-decade.

Sub-confession: I've already watched four movies in six days (plan on a fifth tonight [that sounds a little like I'm talking about Jack Daniels or something]), and I love it. I really want to post on the movie forum, but I hate resurrecting really old threads because I know no one cares anymore.

This sounds my entire life.

I always seem to get into fads after everyone else moved one. Like Sonic the Hedgehog. I love Sonic but all of my friends only play Halo or Call of Duty (4?) now.
