But I'm a debate champion! That makes me geeky enough to hang out in forums like these, right? right?

You'd be surprised just how few people give a shit about how fast someone can complete a game of minesweeper, so I wouldn't feel too bad.

Confession: I've wasted my life!

Not really. I only know one other kid in my entire school who even plays minesweeper, let alone is addicted. So, that's 2 people who care, out of over 1000.

Of course it won't work right when both your control keys are firmly jammed in the "down" position.

Confession:
Every time someone mentions Dvorak, I think of the 19th-20th century Russian composer. I actually don't know what it means in reference to computers.

I completely fail at being nerdy...except it when it comes to psychology, the history of swing dancing, or yo-yos.

Because she's mine. It all started when I fell into this ring of fire...

Actually I just didn't think anyone had confessed to shooting a man in Reno yet, and that someone should.

A dude I know that uses Dvorak has two scripts/aliases on his computer. The first is asdf, which switches to Dvorak. The second is... well... whatever the left-hand home row keys are in Dvorak, in the same order, and that switches to qwerty. Makes it really easy even for someone that doesn't know Dvorak to switch back to qwerty, as long as he has an xterm open.

thomasjmaccoll wrote:that made me laugh a lot.

i can't think of any good confession really... maybe this for starters:

i don't know if this makes me weird as a boy, but i find porn rubbish. i do masturbate, and i am aroused by beautiful women, but there's just nothing sexy about what you find on 99.9% of porn sites i've ever come across. from time to time, i'm on the computer and it's quiet, and i feel a bit like some naked girls. 'ooh, lucky i'm on the internet!' i think. i proceed to start looking at some porn, and after 10 minutes i just think 'what? this is rubbish!'

a few years ago, in my early teens, i looked at a fair amount of porn... probably not as much as a lot of other boys my age, but a fair amount. it was exciting, probably just because i was young and it was before i had any real life sexual experience and because it was something i 'shouldn't have been doing', but these days it just seems to be to be really void of any 'real sexiness', for want of a better phrase. i don't know, i could probably work out a good and eloquent argument for this, but i won't right now, firstly because i have to go to the pub, and secondly because it's off topic.

anyway, my confession #1 is that i don't like porn.

Seconded. Domai is a good alternative to trying to find decent pics of nudity that don't suck through porn sites. And though I am a teenager (17), and puberty came and went closer to when I was 9, I have to agree with you on nearly everything.

I generally hate organized groups of people who think too similarly (anything that can be considered a "movement"), though I suspect I like this group because its members actually think.

I hate heights, play the clarinet at a decent level, and have a strange enjoyment for JPop.

I also have parenting guilt issues. (Could I have a family? Would I negelct my kids/beat my wife?)

I absolutely detest MTV (and this is where the "deepest secret" bit really gets in), but will be seen on MTV in what I think is going to be about half to 2/3 of a year.

Along with that...
I am an absolutely OCD-type singer. If I know a song and I even remotely like it, I will sing it whenever I hear it, almost completely out of regard to the situation (exceptions: in the office or during class...don't want to be disruptive).

And...
Everlong (Foo Fighters) now reminds me every time of "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" thanks to you all.
