No, but you're right up there for Future Tranny of the Year award.

My confession is that I was hoping to win this.

Me?

I have crush on David Bowie (but honestly, who doesn't?)

I treat each of my possessions as if it were alive in the sense that I always get the feeling they are judging me or that they will be sad if I neglect them.

In the same sense, I have given the following objects names and distinct personalities: my cell phone, my computer, my MP3 player, my sunglasses, my car, all three of my earrings, my watches, my bracelets, my belt, and my stuffed penguin.

I treat a lot of people very badly and only feel guilty for a little while.

Incredibly narcissistic...

I act completely different when not around my closest group of friends. I act cold, removed, and very serious.

lani wrote:Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome is one of my all-time favorite movies.

That was a good movie. It's okay for me to say that because I've worked as a video store clerk.

If it were up to me, there wouldn't be anything irrational about being absolutely terrified by water. I fell in the ocean once. No, not while at the beach. I fell in the fucking ocean and I was never the same after that.

Judas Maccabeus wrote:I am absolutely deathly afraid of heights.

When subjected to heights I generally crumple and stay down.

There's nothing wrong with boys liking girly things. It makes you fancy.

My three new piercings (as in the ones I got last year, not the ones from when I was 10) are Morris, Spike and Nelson. My phone is Harriet; as discussed in another part of the forum, my iPod is Bernard. And I have trouble throwing things out because I feel sorry for them.

Good post, dude:

I don't in particular, but sometimes I find the bassist from Interpol sexy. Also, anyone that plays French Horn, that is one sexy instrument that is consistently played by sexy people. Ow-ow!

I think that's very common. Extending to lots of non-human things, from the companies you work for to TV/radio shows you have a habit of tuning in to. It's actively encouraged (maybe even created, it's hard to tell) by marketing (in a very broad sense of the word; consumerism and careerism are I believe very much tied together... and I realized this when my manager recently gave me a raise and showed me list of engineering positions in the company that looked like a menu at a fast food joint, and was very much concerned with "giving me the lifestyle I deserved"). I have worked very hard over the last few years to divorce myself from sense of duty to anything but myself and other people that I care about; not corporations, products or anything else. I'm not there. It's damn hard.

Also Jon Stewart, but to a lesser extent.

Stephen Colbert looks very good for his age.

And Jon Stewart looked amazing seven years ago. Now he's starting to show his age, though.

that made me laugh a lot.

i can't think of any good confession really... maybe this for starters:

i don't know if this makes me weird as a boy, but i find porn rubbish. i do masturbate, and i am aroused by beautiful women, but there's just nothing sexy about what you find on 99.9% of porn sites i've ever come across. from time to time, i'm on the computer and it's quiet, and i feel a bit like some naked girls. 'ooh, lucky i'm on the internet!' i think. i proceed to start looking at some porn, and after 10 minutes i just think 'what? this is rubbish!'

a few years ago, in my early teens, i looked at a fair amount of porn... probably not as much as a lot of other boys my age, but a fair amount. it was exciting, probably just because i was young and it was before i had any real life sexual experience and because it was something i 'shouldn't have been doing', but these days it just seems to be to be really void of any 'real sexiness', for want of a better phrase. i don't know, i could probably work out a good and eloquent argument for this, but i won't right now, firstly because i have to go to the pub, and secondly because it's off topic.

anyway, my confession #1 is that i don't like porn.

OK, my secrets... I've got a few, I think.
1. I'm adopted, but I wish my real mum loved me enough to keep me (and that my real dad hadn't left my mum on her own)
2. I'm afraid of spiders
3. I'm afraid I'll never be enough of anything to be anybody; smart enough, pretty enough, etc
4. I'm afraid of falling in love
5. But at the same time, I'm afraid I will never be loved
6. Nothing I do is ever good enough; I always fall just a bit short of my own expectations and of other people's for me
7. I appreciate my friends more than they'll ever know.
8. I write anonymous poetry and leave it in library books
9. I never turned in my British Literature book, but they think I have
10. I'm addicted to caffeine

Is that good enough?

Mandolins rawk, violas are pretty cool (esp electric ones. they just look awesome), and the Bass Guitar is the best instrument known to humankind.

EDIT: Roundback electrocoustic guitars are second.

I like bowed string instruments quite a bit. Plucked ones not so much.

My top 10 preferred instruments, in descending order (not exhaustive):

1. Piccolo
2. Oboe
3. Recorder
4. Clarinet
5. Viola
6. Violin
7. Trumpet
8. Voice (properly done)
9. Organ
10. Piano

I suppose another secret you could pull out of there is that I can't stand rock music (of any kind--classic, metal, etc.) for anything. Never much liked the more percussive instruments, the piano is an exception, and between the semi-percussive guitars and the drums rock music more than its share.

Here's another secret:
I really like Power Puff girls, and secretly wish I was more like Buttercup.

Oh, and I agree, porn is completely lame.

I have an irrational fear of insects and spiders. I know it's irrational and that most bugs will never hurt me, but whenever I see one - especially one of the flying variety - I stay as far away from it as I can.

The only exception is ants, and only when they're outside on the sidewalk. When I'm wearing shoes. Okay, that's not much of an exception.

I once heard a bug banging against the ceiling light in my room late at night, and engaged it in epic battle. After killing it once (it seemed to come back to life or something) I realized it was a ladybug. Shall I post the whole story?

That reminds me of PostSecret, probably one of my favorite sites on the net.

Yeah. I started doing it, about once a month or so, maybe a little over a year ago. And I've been reading PostSecret for quite a while. And own the first book. It is starting at me, actually, right now. On the desk. Upside down. I'm tempted to pick it up, now. :(
