Just got FreeBSD running with Xfce4. I have been running Ubuntu (with Gnome) for the last couple of years and liking it so far. Wanted to try something different on another hard drive. I like the simplicity, but am quite spoiled by all of the pre-packaged goodies on a Linux distro.

Edit:

Here's my Ubuntu desktop with Gnome:

So I came across the Calvin and Hobbes comic and couldn't resist putting it as my desktop.

Primary Monitor: http://www.mattshelton.net/2008/02/22/do-your-work-dont-be-stupid/ Very self-explanatory. Unfortunately, I ignore its advice all too often.

The left half of the icons is for making stuff, the right half is miscellaneous, and the dragon was the first fractal I programmed.

P.S:Tyrian Purple is a great color.

I like to keep things plain. If you're curious that's Venice, I didn't hold the camera still enough when it decided it needed to keep the shutter open for a while but I still really like the picture.

Main wallpaper and all wallpapers (yes, I have 9 workspaces. 4 is too few and I like them to be arranged in a square).

(If anyone would happen to want one of these wallpapers, just ask and I'll upload it for you)

Yeah, but I figured I'd leave it as punishment as I'd only be seeing it when I should be revising and wasn't.

Um...so about that earlier figure of odds of having the same desktop. You do realize you should be taking the number of possible colors for each pixel, to the power of how many pixels their are...From Wolfram:
