Randy, the attacker of our enemies,

Could I put a small bad-karma lashing out on my brother.

Mum and Dad aren't home. You needs to help more. Our grandparents need to be shown things, shouldn't be bending down to get stuff and need the company. Yes you have some homework. But we both know that you're going to probably what an episode of Scrubs and play some TF2 further down the line. It is not fair that I should help make dinner, wash the dishes, bring the washing in, hang it up and continue to look after them. While you sit upstairs and we haven't seen you more than twice this evening. Because someone has to stay downstairs, I haven't been able to prepare for uni all evening. Grah.

Thank you,

Luthen

PS: This may be my first rant where I actually had motive to rant properly.

Yeah, I know. Context is an asshole.

To elaborate:

I hate not having women around. I hate telling them "no." I hate telling them "please." I hate telling them "stop." I hate it when they're understanding and I hate it when they're not. I hate not being able to read their emotions and I hate it when they're angry. I hate it when they ask you stupid questions so they can pin responsibility on you for their stupid decisions. I hate it when they bother me and I don't have women around and I have to go to other men. I hate it when they assume you're talking about them when you're not.
Raise up the torch and light the way.

Arrrrgh. They removed my wisdom teeth yesterday and the left side of my face is now twice as big as the right side and it HURTS. And I can't eat or drink properly and I can't smile or laugh because that hurts more.

I'm not a happy bunny right now. :(

Okay mom, I'm glad you forwarded me a list full of funny things. Mainly because they were just that. Funny. But did the list have to start off with the good old: "If you have sex with a prostitute against her will, is it considered rape or shoplifting?" line? The email you forwarded me even starts off with "The first one makes me laugh out loud every time." UGH what the fucking fuck. I'm not going to reiterate what everyone should already know. Instead I'm just going to smash the keyboard a little.

Thanks, Moo and Delalyra! I'm managing with semi-heavy painkillers and spending a lot of time in bed, either sleeping or reading. The painkillers are supposed to have "light insomnia" as a side effect, but fortunately that one hasn't bothered me so far :)

@Quix: Word.

Although the first thing I thought when you said "I hate men" was "I can't abide them even now and then. Then ever marry one of them, I'd rest a maiden rather, For husbands are a boring lot that only give you bother. Of course, I'm awful glad that mother had to marry father, Still, I hate men."

No, not the trigger (I knew better than to click the link from context). The idea that someone bloody DID that. Especially someone who is as (theoretically) educated as a judge. This makes Chai angry. You won't like her when she's angry.

She kills people with her brain.

Um. Round two. Look mom, I'm glad you took the four seconds it takes to read my two sentences of an email, but did you really have to respond with:
Please don't send me any emails using someone else's name.

Thank you Chai, Pirate.Bondage, and Osha. <3 *hugs back*

Um. Well round three is basically, I'm laying on the couch, basically just thinking how the hell am I going to talk to my mom about this, seeing as its hard for me to talk to her regardless of how serious the conversation is, and my mom comes in and is all like "I replied to your email", and so my auto-response before I could even think was "I know..." in sort of this grumpy voice. And then she just starts laughing. And is like, "Do you know how long it took me to figure out who sent that email? It took me a whole hour almost! I almost responded with "who the hell are you?" next time just send the email as Austin" then I respond with "No thanks", which was followed by two repetitions of "That's not your name" "Yes it is." And then I went back upstairs because I couldn't take it any longer.

I don't think thats the conversation my friend had in mind when she told me that I needed to talk to my mom about this.

Aww. *hugs*

I would think that denial is pretty common in this sort of situation. Definitely not saying that what your mom did was justified, but she might just need the time to get used to it. Please don't get discouraged. I foresee a lot of denial going on if/when I come out (as gay) to my parents.

Ouch :(
I actually started insisting on being called Zoe today, before I read your earlier post. So finding it here was interesting.
My mom is really uncomfortable and says it'll be hard for her. Tough luck. That's my name now. I love her but she don't get to run my life any more.
My mom's not nearly as much in denial or whatever as yours seems to be but she treats me really weird. Not like a woman, and not like a man, but like some fragile pet alien who needs coddling and protection from the big scary world all the time. Gah! Maybe I'm looking too much into this but it just feels really weird! I hate it!

Good luck and *hugs*

Miss... that sucks! So much.

My parents call me by my old name all the time. they still use he... I came out to them... 2 years ago now? And still nothing.

There's a reason I can't spend more than 3 days at home at a time. I need to leave after a few days. If I don't I will go insane. They're getting better. they don't do it out of spite. They just forget. A lot. And I know it's hard. 23 years of having a son is hard to get over when she says "I'm Jess, and a woman, and yeah." I know it's hard.

I just wish you'd try harder.

I guess... How do you deal with it?
You have this person you've raised and taken care of all your life and it must be difficult to adapt to such a change. Does it change anything? Does it change everything?
It'd be great if it could just be "You're doing what makes you happy being you." and hugs and support. But I dunno... Parenthood is this big giant "Whoamg I can't imagine adjusting to that" sort of thing. Especially the adjustment of dealing with your kids growing up and having their own lives.
