I think the world is ending

Postby niko7865 » Tue Jun 10, 2008 6:30 pm UTC

So, last summer it was in the upper nineties/low hundreds. So far this summer it's been anywhere between 89 to 60.

And today I woke up to this

Image
There's a good inch to inch and a half of snow now.

What the hell!!

*drools at snow*. It's currently 95 degrees here and has been for a few days. I think I'm melting.

I wish it was 95 here, last summer we spent everyday down at the river. This summer we've gone once back in early May, before winter started.

If only AZ got a summer snow, then we'd know the world was ending. Alas, it's still a hot fucking summer here.

I'm jealous! Today it is 101 degrees and horribly humid here near DC.

Why can this still happen in today's modern world? Barbaric! Cry havok! And let slip the dogs of science

Our June is supposed to be full of rain. Screw the Lower Mainland/BC. Freaking Ontario has better weather than us.

If it was snowing here I wouldn't mind going to work as much.

Instead I've had about 5 customers tell me today about what brilliant weather we're having and I'm stuck inside all day :(

Although, I like snow too, so maybe it wouldn't make much difference.

We haven't really gotten any decent winter snow up on the mountains, yet. I sure hope this isn't another shockingly bad ski season :(

I'm by NYC, and it went from 70 to 100 in the span of a day. Schools are shutting down. I had to go traipsing around the city in a tie yesterday, and I actually kind of wished the world would end.

In other news, the Cascades are seeing snow in June. Washington State seems to be confused at the state of the seasons. It's supposed to be almost summer, not late winter. It's supposed to be sunny (relatively speaking, this is Seattle we,re talking about) and warm (~68F/ 19C) the past few days have been having crap weather (51F/10C), wet and rainy.

Once it snows in the San Fransisco Bay Area, I know the world will be ending.

We had an early dismissal today because of the almost 100 degree heat.

Snow would be very welcome, actually, though it would be scary to see snow in June even in CT.

Crazy weather here too, but I'm told that's normal. Randomly switches from heavy wind to pouring rain to bright warm sun in the blink of an eye. Had a snowstorm in late April. O_o

It also rains every time I even think about mowing the lawn. >_>

Just today it stopped being all 90s-and-humid here in Upstate NY. Back down into the 80s, though still humid.

I reiterate that I'm SO moving to a desert when I leave school. '90s and bone dry is my style, and I've heard the Phoenix area is getting a lot of new tech jobs!

Wow niko, where in WA are you (since you say all around...) It was just cold and drizzly where I am. But actual snow in June... that's just ridiculous, even with our bizarre climate.

It actually was quite tepid out today. Also, I didn't leave the house which means when I do finally make I out of here (for work or something as meaningless most likely), it'll be blistering. Damn you, weather.

"Quite tepid" = "highly lukewarm" = why the hell would you even say that? Heh, seems silly.

Tuesday here in Jersey was regularly in the high 90s with peaks of 100 and 101 fahrenheit. It's still early June. This is not right.

I mean it was milder than usual. It was more (closer to) "lukewarm", down from "hot" the previous day.

Yes, I made use of an unusual phrasing, and it is a bit abstract, but if you think about it correctly... You know what, just embrace silly.

1. I can't think of a place out here that doesn't have school when it only snows a little. It has to be icy / more than 6" of snow (which varies depending where you are) before anything's done.
2. You forget about humidity, which makes 80° feel worse than 100° in a dry area.

MWAHAHA.... while the rest of the world gets screwed up into an unusual climate that you aren't used to or worse... just cant handle...

we scots get to marvel in land getting warmer and warmer... and our climate becomes that of which we had only dreamed for our home....
no longer are we the damp, dreary weather... we will be the place to be !!

(lol ive actually seen scots get out onto deck chairs and laying on the sun screen heavily because it was 19-21oC, approx 65-70oF...
its freekin hilarious that we think that its "scorching" weather when you's are getting nearly double the heat (in Celsius ;p))

I'm not a global warming alarmist, but we had spring in SE louisiana this year. That never happens. Usually goes from winter to hot within a week. This took a month or more!

Not to worry, it made up for it with 12 days of sweltering heat and 70% humidity before we got a good rain to cool things off.
