Because I think it deserves its own thread.

For the uninitiated, the discussion is about the implications that Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.

I just found that not long ago, and emailed it to a friend who's from Buffalo.

I don't think its implications are very deep, however; I think it's safe to simply say that Buffalo buffalo buffalo, 'eh?
One of these days my desk is going to collapse in the middle and all its weight will come down on my knee and tear my new fake ACL. It could be tomorrow. This is my concern.

Me either, but it is kind of fun, and swamping the other thread already.

Buffalo chicken is fried, usually consisting of just chicken wings, and is coated with a cayenne based hot sauce, and other ingredients that vary depending on location (vinegar, butter, etc). They are usually referred to as just buffalo wings.

They're worth a try.

Is anyone else finding that Buffalo is really a very strange looking word when you see it that many times in a row?

Happens with a lot of English words. Door, calendar, chair, buffalo, etc. And then there are the words that never do that, like "shred".

English is strange.

Hey! This is the Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo thread, not the Badger badgers badger Badger badgers badger badger Badger badger thread (did I get that right?)

Fork the thread again if you have to. Or, just link to 2005.

Getting back to the buffalo, I agree that the word looks weird in succession. I think doubling the "l" would make it look more balanced.

A sign-maker was comissioned to make a new sign for the popular local pub, the 'Pig and Whistle.' However, on completion, the owner was not happy, complaining that there was 'too much space between the pig and 'and' and 'and' and whistle'

As a Genuine One-Hundred-Percent Buffalonian, I can assure you that they are CORRECTLY referred to as chicken wings. Or else.
