Who gets the lead in your biography?

Postby nadreck » Wed Aug 13, 2008 6:55 pm UTC

Following on today's http://xkcd.com/462/ comic and the discussion thread about it suggesting it would be nice to have Morgan Freeman (or someone else) narrate one's life story (me I would pick Dion Graham). I though, well wouldn't it be an interesting exercise to cast someone as the main character my life's story portrayed on stage or in film.

Please be sure to suggest who you think would be the best actor to play you as you are today.

Other things you might want to tell us who:

  1. You think a Hollywood movie producer would cast as you
  2. You think your friends would cast as you
  3. You would cast as you at a greatly different age - the "young you" or the "teen aged you" if you are over 25 etc.
  4. You would cast as your mother
  5. You would cast as your father
  6. You would cast as your siblings
  7. You would cast as your friends
  8. You would cast as your lovers
  9. You would cast in other roles
  10. any other idea that this makes you want to tell us

A 3D model and a synthesized voice. For extra fun, crappy ones that don't fit the part at all. Maybe Mario from Super Mario 64. :P

I would want to be played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. She's so adorable.

Sadly, Chris Farley and John Candy are both dead. Can anyone think of another hilarious fat guy?

How about John Goodman? I always liked his more humorous side.

I was waiting to see what response I got.

Lets see, the guy who I would pick to play me would be Christian Slater, however I think many people I know would pick Billy Bob Thorton.

I would probably pick Sally Fields at various ages to play my mother at various ages.

Not sure who else I would cast at this point.

If a movie were made about my life, I'd make it as unlike my own life as possible; surrounded by sexbomb hotties, piles of blow lying around my cabin-mansion on the side of Mount Everest, fighting crime in my spare time, etc. Ideally I'd be played by Jennifer Connelly, my lover by Johnny Depp, and my backup lover would be played by...Oh, I don't know, maybe Christian Bale or some other pretty face. I'd also have a pet bobcat.

Cate Blanchett. If she could pull of Bob Dylan then she can play a believable me!

There was a woman I used to know a while ago who would have totally suited being played by Judi Dench. Roughly the same looks, and definitely the same sort of attitude she always seems to have. She didn't play a huge role in my life, but I figure a bit of creative scripting and we can squeeze her in there.

That's all I've got for now.

Definitely Christian Bale.

Mostly because I look a lot like he did in The Machinist.

Michael Cera. It's a pretty easy fit. A younger Loren Horsley could play the part of my most memorable SO.

Stuart Townsend to capture my mental state, although he'd have to have short hair and get fat.

Vin Diesel playing Abe Lincoln playing me.

That could work :)
